Umakanta Academy [1] [2] is an educational institute located in Agartala, India. Established in 1890, it is the oldest school in Tripura. It is affiliated with CBSE.
The Agartala Higher Education School was founded by Maharaja Bir Chandra Manikya in 1890 and developed by Maharaja Radha Kishore Manikya when he acceded to the throne in 1896. It was renamed as Umakanta Academy in 1904 in honour of the Chief Minister of Tripura, Umakanta Das. It has two playgrounds, one swimming pool, a hostel and a football stadium with floodlights and galleries.[ citation needed ]

Maharaja Bir Bikram College or MBB College is a degree college of the Indian state of Tripura, imparting general education in the streams of Science, Commerce and Humanities. Established on 9 September 1947, it is the oldest college in the state of Tripura with a campus spread over 264 acres (107 ha). It is located approximately 3 km (1.9 mi) from the city center. Neermahal also known as Twijilikma Nuyung is a former royal palace of Tripura Kingdom, built by Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya bahadur in 1930. It is also the largest water palace in India.
