Undergrunn is a Norwegian hip hop group that was formed in Oslo in 2018. The band consists of six members: Patrick Bakkeng (Fretex), Gabriel Doria (Plaza), Sverre Skogheim Gudmestad (Pus), Jo Almaas Marstein (Marstein), Jon Ranes (Loverboy) and Marcos Haugestad (Rikpappa). [1] [2]

History

Growing up in Tøyen and Gamlebyen in Oslo, Undergrunn came together to create music during secondary school. [3] At 15, they debuted with the song "Isbil," leading to an appearance on By:Larm. [4] The group released their EP UG Sommer in 2018.

Their first album, Firenze's Finest, was released in autumn 2020. They received two nominations for P3 Gold 2022, including Artist of the Year and Song of the Year for "Italia." [5] Undergrunn won the year's breakthrough class for the album Undergrunn at the Spellemannprisen 2022, [6] along with four additional nominations in categories such as hip-hop, songwriter of the year, the release of the year for the album Undergrunn, and song of the year for "Italia." [7]

Norway participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 1998 with the song "Alltid sommer" written by David Eriksen and Linda Andernach Johansen. The song was performed by Lars A. Fredriksen. The Norwegian broadcaster Norsk rikskringkasting (NRK) organised the national final Melodi Grand Prix 1998 in order to select the Norwegian entry for the 1998 contest in Birmingham, United Kingdom. Eight entries competed in a show that took place on 27 February 1999 and the winner, "All I Ever Wanted " performed by Lars A. Fredriksen, was determined by the votes from a six-member jury panel and a regional televote. The song was later translated from English to Norwegian for the Eurovision Song Contest and was titled "Alltid sommer".

Sas Plus/Sas Pussy is the second extended play (EP) by the Norwegian hip hop duo Karpe, composed of rappers Magdi Omar Ytreeide Abdelmaguid and Chirag Rashmikant Patel. It was released on February 22, 2019, through Apen og Kjeften and distributed by Sony Music. The EP follows the duo's fifth studio album Heisann Montebello (2016), and the collaborative EP Mars (2018) with Unge Ferrari and Arif. It features guest vocals from Isah and Emilie Nicolas. Production was handled by Aksel "Axxe" Carlson and Thomas Kongshavn.
