The United Renaissance Party is a Ghanaian political party registered with the Electoral Commission of Ghana. [1] It was founded in 2007. Its first leader was Kofi Wayo. [2] [3]

In an interview in 2009, Kofi Wayo stated that the electoral rules in Ghana needed overhauling. [4]

Wayo declared in 2017 that he was leaving politics for farming. He said he was keen to support farmers in villages while suggesting that politicians did not do so. [5]

National Democratic Congress (Ghana) Political party in Ghana

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) is a social democratic political party in Ghana, founded by Jerry Rawlings, who was Head of State of Ghana from 1981 to 1993 and the President of Ghana from 1993 to 2001. Following the formation of the Provisional National Defence Council (PNDC), which ruled Ghana following the military coup d'état on 31 December 1981, there was pressure from the international community to restore democracy. The NDC was formed as the ruling party ahead of elections in 1992, in which Rawlings was elected president, and in 1996 Rawlings was re-elected as the NDC candidate. Rawlings' second term ended in 2001.

Nana Akufo-Addo President of Ghana

Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is a Ghanaian politician who is the incumbent president of Ghana. He has been in office since 7 January 2017. He previously served as Attorney General from 2001 to 2003 and as Minister for Foreign Affairs from 2003 to 2007 under the Kufuor-led administration. He is also currently the chairman of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).

Electoral Commission of Ghana Electoral Commission

The Electoral Commission of Ghana is the official body in Ghana responsible for all public elections. Made up of seven members, its independence is guaranteed by the 1992 Ghana constitution. The current commission was established by the Electoral Commission Act of 1993. Kwadwo Afari-Gyan was the first substantive Chairman of the Commission from 1993-2015. On December 5, 2018, the Electoral commission chaired by Jean Adukwei Mensah reverted to the old logo Eagles with coat of arms after the controversy over the new logo

Edward Korbly Doe Adjaho, is a Ghanaian politician and barrister who was Speaker of the Parliament of Ghana from 2013 to 2017.

The Independent People's Party was a political party in Ghana. Its leader was Kofi Percival Akpaloo, a Managing Principal for Doveson Lovell & Co. Its offices are based at Kumasi, the capital of the Ashanti Region of Ghana. The party's emblem was a computer and its motto was "putting people's lives first through technology". It never had any seats in the Parliament of Ghana. The party sought to gain seats in the 2012 Ghanaian general election of December 2012 but failed to do so. Akpaloo filed to contest in the 2016 Ghanaian general election but was one of thirteen candidates who were disqualified by the Electoral Commission.

The Ghana Democratic Republican Party is a political party registered in Ghana. It was founded in 1992. Its current leader is Kofi Amoah. It holds no seats in parliament at present.

The Yes People's Party is a political party in Ghana. It was founded in 2012. Its leader is Annin – Kofi Addo. Its offices are based at Dansoman, a suburb of Accra. It was registered in September 2012 by the Electoral Commission of Ghana. Though it fielded a candidate, one Courage Kwame Mensah Azumah in 2012 for the Ketu South Constituency, it could not win the parliamentary seat. It however was unable to field candidates during the Ghanaian general election, 2016.

2020 Ghanaian general election Ghanaian general election

General elections were held in Ghana on 7 December 2020. Incumbent President Nana Akufo-Addo of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) was re-elected in the first round after securing a majority of the votes. Former President John Dramani Mahama says he will contest the results.
