The U.S. Post Office-Lovelock Main, at 390 Main St. in Lovelock, Nevada, was built in 1938. Also known as the Lovelock Main Post Office, it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1990. [1]

It was deemed significant, per its NRHP nomination, for its standardized Starved Classicism architecture and for symbolizing "not only the federal government's recognition of Lovelock's regional importance, but also the link between the local citizens and their elected representatives in Washington D.C." [2] :3 Also the building and a mural in its lobby, titled The Uncovering of the Comstock Lode and painted by Ejnar Hansen in 1940, "are also significant as legacies of the massive public works programs undertaken by the federal government to bolster the economy during the Depression." [2] :3

Tonopah Main Post Office United States historic place

The Tonopah Main Post Office, also known as US Post Office–Tonopah Main, is the main post office in Tonopah, Nevada. Built in 1941, the post office was the first and only federally constructed post office in the city. The post office was designed in a Starved Classical style typical of federal buildings of the era. The government began planning the post office in 1937, and its site was chosen in 1940. The building's cornerstone was laid in May 1941; a civic ceremony and parade marked the occasion. The post office opened for business on December 7, 1941, the same day as the attack on Pearl Harbor. In addition to serving as Tonopah's post office, the building also houses government offices in its basement.

George Howard Jr. Federal Building and United States Courthouse United States historic place

The George Howard Jr. Federal Building and United States Courthouse is a federal government building at 100 East 8th Street in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. It is a roughly square building, three stories in height, with a steel frame and curtain glass exterior. Single-story brick sections project to the east and west of its main block, and the south side houses the building's service entrances. It was completed in 1967, and is a prominent local example of Modern architecture. It is also a significant local example of an urban renewal project; it was built in a swampy area previously occupied by "substandard housing". It was named in honor of Pine Bluff native George Howard Jr. in 2008, and continues to house Pine Bluff's main post office as well as federal courts.
