Overview and history

University of Lakki Marwat is established by Government of Khyber Pakhtunwa in October 2017. [1] It was originally a sub campus of University of Science and Technology Bannu and was established in 2014. The sub campus in Lakki Marwat was created by constant effort by the people of Lakki Marwat to have university in the district. [2] The sub campus was created in Government Post Graduate College Lakki Marwat Campus. The campus initially offered research in 2 disciplines: Education & Research (IER) and Political Science. [3] [4] [5] The Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has upgraded the sub campus into full-fledged university in October 2017. [1] [6] Currently, different departments are temporarily operated from various branch campuses. The construction work on the main campus is underway at the location of Dalo Khel.

Provincial elections were held in the Pakistani province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on 25 July 2018 to elect the members of the 11th Provincial Assembly of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, alongside nationwide general elections and three other provincial elections in Sindh, Balochistan and Punjab. The remaining two territories of Pakistan, AJK and Gilgit-Baltistan, were ineligible to vote due to their disputed status.

The Peshawar–Dera Ismail Khan motorway is a 360 km (220 mi) long proposed motorway connecting Peshawar with the southern parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. Starting at the provincial capital Peshawar in the north, it will pass through Darra Adamkhel, Kohat, Hangu, Karak, Bannu(Domel), Ghoriwala, Lakki Marwat, and Darra Pezu, reaching Dera Ismail Khan at its southern end.

The Bannu Economic Zone or BEZ constitutes a pivotal component of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project. Situated in the region of Bannu, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, it holds prominence as one of the 17 economic zones designated for creation by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Government under the overarching CPEC framework. Commencing with an initial land area encompassing approximately 408 acres, the first phase of the zone's development has successfully concluded.
