The Chariot was an American hardcore punk band from Douglasville, Georgia, that existed from 2003 to 2013. The band experienced frequent lineup changes since its inception, with Scogin being the only original member. The band played an abrasive style of metalcore that did not adhere to typical stylings popular among their contemporaries such as melodic/abrasive dynamics and harmonic vocals. They built a reputation around their powerful live performances, with Scogin's lyrics covering topics like materialism, personal struggle, current events, politics, and Christian themes.

The first single, "Closer to Love", was released on March 10, 2009, as a digital download. To promote the album, Kearney toured with Keane and the Helio Sequence. On the day of its release, the bonus track version peaked at #7 on the iTunes Top Albums, and the standard version peaked at #19. Kearney wrote the title track while traveling in Turkey. He explained that this song "was born on a ferry as I crossed the Bosphorus River, which splits Istanbul in two.". "Fire & Rain" was also released as a digital download to MySpace the week of the album release. Immediately after the album was released, "Lifeline" was used in commercial advertisement for season 3 of Lifetime Television's Army Wives. The commercial has been aired not only on Lifetime but ABC as well.

One Wing has been described by the band as being their "weirdest" release to date. The album debuted at number 85 on the Billboard 200, their highest position so far.

Midnight is the debut EP from the American noise rock band '68. The album was originally self-released by the band online in December 2013 as a 7" vinyl record. Lead singer and guitarist Josh Scogin estimated that the original pressing of 1,500 copies sold out in about 8 or 9 hours. It was reissued by No Sleep Records on April 1, 2014 with new cover art parodying Nirvana's 1989 debut album, Bleach.
