Until in Excess, Imperceptible UFO is the fourth studio album by Canadian indie rock band The Besnard Lakes, released in April 2013 on Jagjaguwar. [1]
The album was named a longlisted nominee for the 2013 Polaris Music Prize on June 13, 2013. [2]
The recording of Until in Excess, Imperceptible UFO featured greater involvement from guitarist Richard White and drummer Kevin Laing, with vocalist and guitarist Jace Lasek noting: "Now, everybody feels that they've invested in the same thing. The four of us feel quite proud and strong about this record because we all worked on it. Kevin and Richard saw more of the creative process than they had before and that really helped bring the band together." [3]
Regarding the album's title, Lasek stated: "We played in Paris at the end of the Roaring Night touring cycle and there was a review of one of our shows that was written in French. Our then-label manager found it on the internet and sent it to us but he'd Google-translated it when he sent it, and it said something along the lines of: "The Besnard Lakes create this atmosphere of whatever" and then it said, "until in excess, imperceptible UFO". I was like, 'That's amazing!' I have no idea what that means but it kinda describes us perfectly!" [3]

The Conet Project: Recordings of Shortwave Numbers Stations is a four- CD set of recordings of numbers stations and noise stations released by Irdial-Discs beginning in 1997. Numbers stations are shortwave radio stations believed to be operated by government agencies to communicate with deployed spies. The collection of recordings is primarily the work of Irdial-Discs founder Akin Fernandez, who began recording the transmissions of numbers stations in 1992. The original 4 CD set was released in 1997 and reissued in 2013 with an additional 5th CD.

Misty Medley is the second full-length album by the Montreal indie rock band Kiss Me Deadly, released in October 2005 by Alien8 Recordings. Working with The Besnard Lakes' Jace Lasek, the band included reworked versions of the four songs on their 2005 EP Amoureux Cosmiques that featured "breathy vocals, saturated pop tones and melodies motorized by punk", according to The Montreal Mirror. Misty Medley spent several weeks on the Canadian "National Campus Top 50 Chart" published by ChartAttack, debuting at #25. The band toured the U.S. the following year in support of the album, alongside Voxtrot and We Are Wolves. Critics particularly noted the four aptly-named "Dance" tracks, with "Dance 1" and "Dance 4" also proving to be the most popular with listeners.
The Summerlad were a band from Calgary, Alberta, Canada, formed by singer-guitarist Garrett McClure in 1999 after the demise of The Primrods. McClure was joined by guitarist Sean Grier, bassist Arran Fisher, and drummer Dean Martin. Their first album, 2001's Distance Will Be Swept Up, was released on Calgary's Catch and Release label, and received coverage in publications like exclaim!. Between 2001 and 2005, they released two singles projects, Mandarin Hand and The Golden Hammers Project. Suuns is a Canadian rock band from Montreal. It was formed in mid-2007 when vocalist and guitarist Ben Shemie and guitarist and bassist Joe Yarmush got together to make some beats which quickly evolved into a few songs. The duo was soon joined by drummer Liam O'Neill and bassist and keyboardist Max Henry to complete the original line-up. The band signed to Secretly Canadian in 2010. Since 2018, Suuns saw the departure of Henry as an official member to pursue a scholastic path, and in 2020 they officially signed with Joyful Noise Recordings with their 2020 output of Fiction, followed by their 2021 LP The Witness.

Folly & the Hunter are an indie-folk band from Montreal, founded by members Nick Vallée, Laurie Torres, and Christopher Fox with their 2011 self-released debut album Residents. The band recorded their second album with Jace Lasek of The Besnard Lakes at his Breakglass Studio in Montréal and signed to Canadian record label Outside Music to release Tragic Care on April 16, 2013. Tragic Care established the band's detailed hand at crafting "multidimensional folk", and garnered comparisons to Sigur Rós. Folly & the Hunter recorded their 2015 album Awake with Howie Beck at Toronto's Revolution Studios in Toronto and touring member Phil Creamer joined the band as a permanent member.
