Ryan Coogler is directing, writing, and co-producing an upcoming untitled American gothic supernatural horror film starring Michael B. Jordan, Delroy Lindo, Jack O'Connell, Jayme Lawson, Wunmi Mosaku, Omar Benson Miller, Hailee Steinfeld, Lola Kirke, & Christian Robinson.

Coogler began developing the genre film through his production company Proximity Media in January 2024, when Jordan was cast. Warner Bros. Pictures acquired distribution rights the next month following a bidding war, and casting for additional roles took place in April, ahead of the start of filming that month.

The film is scheduled to be released in the United States on March 7, 2025.

Production

In January 2024, it was reported that an untitled genre film directed, written and co-produced by Ryan Coogler through his production company Proximity Media. Longtime collaborator Michael B. Jordan was cast in the lead role. [1] Sony Pictures, Warner Bros. Pictures, and Universal Pictures were in a bidding war to acquire the distribution rights to the film. Coogler's script was described as a period genre vampire film. The budget has been said to be around $90 million. [2] The following month, it was announced that Warner Bros. won the distribution rights to the film. [3] In April, Jack O'Connell, Delroy Lindo, Jayme Lawson, Wunmi Mosaku, Omar Benson Miller, Hailee Steinfeld, Li Jun Li and Lola Kirke joined the cast in undisclosed roles, with O'Connell portraying the villain. Filming

Principal photography began on April 14, 2024, in New Orleans, with Autumn Durald Arkapaw serving as the cinematographer. [14] Filming occurs using the working title Grilled Cheese. [15]

Release

The untitled film is scheduled to be released in the United States on March 7, 2025. [16]
