Urn is the third studio album by Australian metal band Ne Obliviscaris, released on 27 October 2017 via Season of Mist. [6] It was released to Patreon contributors a few days earlier. It is the first album not to feature former bassist Brendan "Cygnus" Brown, who left the band in early 2017 due to his allegations of domestic violence. [7] Robin Zielhorst, former member of Cynic and Exivious, was recruited as their session bassist for the album. [8]
The first single from the album, "Intra Venus", was released on 27 July 2017, accompanying a music video. [8] On 29 August 2017, the band released another song, "Urn (Part I) – And Within the Void We Are Breathless". [9] The third song, "Urn (Part II) – As Embers Dance in Our Eyes" was made available for streaming on 10 October 2017. [10]

Ne Obliviscaris are a five-piece Australian progressive metal band from Melbourne. Formed initially as a four-piece in April 2003, the group was founded by Marc "Xenoyr" Campbell and Adam Cooper. The current line-up comprises vocalist Xenoyr, violinist and clean vocalist Tim Charles, guitarists Matt Klavins and Benjamin Baret and bassist Martino Garattoni. To date, the band has released a demo, two extended plays and three studio albums. Their most recent album, Urn, was released on 27 October 2017.

Azusa is a progressive extreme metal supergroup that originated in 2018 as a project between cousins and former Extol members, Christer Espevoll and David Husvik. The two had been demoing material, when then The Dillinger Escape Plan bassist Liam Wilson expressed admiration for Extol. The three added on pop vocalist Eleni Zafiriadou of Sea + Air, and the band recorded their debut album, Heavy Yoke. The band is currently signed with Solid State Records.
Franckensteina Strataemontanus is the sixth studio album by Dutch symphonic black metal band Carach Angren. Released on 26 June 2020 through Season of Mist, it is a concept album inspired by the life of late 17th-century/early 18th-century German occultist Johann Konrad Dippel, whose controversial experiments with corpses allegedly inspired Mary Shelley's influential 1818 Gothic novel Frankenstein; or, The Modern Prometheus; its title is a reference to a Latin epithet adopted by Dippel later in life. It is also their final release with long-time drummer and founding member Ivo "Namtar" Wijers, who left the band as soon as the recording sessions ended citing "dissatisfactions with the music industry".
