Usman Mushtaq (born 5 November 1986) is a Pakistani-born cricketer who played for the United Arab Emirates national cricket team. He made his debut for the UAE in November 2015. He has represented the UAE at One Day International (ODI) and Twenty20 International levels. Before emigrating to the UAE,he played first-class cricket for Sialkot in Pakistan and also represented the Pakistan under-19s.
Mushtaq was born in Sialkot,Punjab,Pakistan. [1] He made his first-class debut for Sialkot in January 2003,aged 16,in a Quaid-i-Azam Trophy match against the Lahore Whites. [2] On debut,he opened the batting with Shaiman Anwar (another future UAE international),and scored 67 runs from 115 balls. Their opening partnership was 177 runs. [3] Mushtaq played one other Quaid-i-Azam match during the 2002–03 season,against Faisalabad. He again opened with Shaiman Anwar,scoring nine runs in the first innings and 27 runs in the second. [4] Later in the season,in February and March 2003,Mushtaq twice played for Sialkot in the limited-overs National Bank of Pakistan Patron's Cup,appearing against Rawalpindi and Faisalabad. [5]
In April 2005,when the Sri Lankan under-19s toured,Mushtaq was selected in the Pakistan under-19s squad. He played a single under-19 ODI,making nine runs from 18 balls coming in fourth in the batting order. [6] One of his under-19 teammates was a fellow Sialkoti,Arsalan Anwar,while his opponents included future Sri Lankan Test players Upul Tharanga,Chamara Kapugedera,Kosala Kulasekara,and Angelo Mathews. [7] Mushtaq's last appearances in Pakistani domestic competitions came in December 2005,when he played for Pakistan Army in Grade II of the Patron's Trophy. [8]
After emigrating to the UAE,Mushtaq made his debut for the UAE national team in early November 2015,in a two-day match against Oman at Ajman Oval. [8] Later in the month,he made his first-class debut for the UAE,playing an ICC Intercontinental Cup match against Hong Kong. [9] His One Day International (ODI) debut came a few days later against the same team,in a World Cricket League Championship game. [10] Mushtaq made his Twenty20 International debut for the UAE in February 2016,against Ireland. [11] Later in the month,he also made appearances against Afghanistan in the 2016 Asia Cup Qualifier and against Pakistan in the 2016 Asia Cup. [12]

Saeed Ajmal SI is a Pakistani cricket coach and former cricketer,who played all forms of the game. He is a right-arm off-spin bowler who bats right handed. At domestic level in Pakistan he represented Faisalabad,with whom he won the 2005 ABN-AMRO Twenty-20 Cup;Khan Research Laboratories;and Islamabad. Ajmal made his One Day International debut for Pakistan in July 2008 at the age of 30,and a year later played his first Test. In 2009,he was reported for having a suspect bowling action,but after being cleared he helped Pakistan win the 2009 ICC World Twenty20. Ajmal played for Worcestershire as an overseas player in English domestic cricket in 2011. From November 2011 to December 2014,Ajmal was ranked by the International Cricket Council as the number one bowler in ODIs. He reached the same ranking in T20Is between October and December 2012,while his highest Test ranking was second between January and July of the same year. He is one of four Test bowlers that made their debut after the age of thirty to take more than 100 test wickets,along with Clarrie Grimmett,Dilip Doshi and Ryan Harris.

In December 2013,he bowled ZTBL to victory in the national T20 final with impressive figures of 5 wickets for 9 runs in four overs. He was subsequently picked for the national side in the T20 series against Sri Lanka in the UAE.
Shaiman Anwar Butt is a former cricketer who played for the United Arab Emirates national cricket team. A powerful right-handed top-order batsman,he made his debut for the United Arab Emirates national side in December 2010,having previously represented Sialkot and Servis Industries in Pakistani domestic tournaments. In March 2021,Shaiman was found guilty of corruption and banned from all cricket for eight years.

Arsalan Anwar is a Pakistani cricketer. He scored a century in his single Test innings for the Pakistani national under-19 side,played two first-class matches for Sialkot during the 2007–08 season,and later moved to Ireland where he played Twenty20 matches for Munster Reds.

In less than a decade after independence,the massive influx of South Asians increased crickets popularity. After the establishment of the Emirates Cricket Board in 1989,the United Arab Emirates officially became an affiliate member of the ICC. In the following year,the UAE became an associate member,with the likes of Kenya. In 1996,the UAE competed in the Cricket World Cup,with their debut along with Kenya and The Netherlands making them the 14th team to compete at the World Cup. They did not qualify for the World Cup until 2015,where they are currently playing in Pool B.
