The Uzbekistan men's national under-18 ice hockey team is the men's national under-18 ice hockey team of Uzbekistan. The team is controlled by the Uzbekistan Ice Hockey Federation and has been an associate member of the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) since 26 September 2019. The team has not entered in any IIHF World U18 Championships, but they have participated in the IIHF U18 Asia and Oceania Championship, a regional tournament for lower-tier hockey nations in Asia.

History

In March 2023, Uzbekistan participated at the 2023 IIHF U18 Asia and Oceania Championship in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. This was the first time Uzbekistan had sent a team to this tournament. Their first win came against Turkmenistan by a score of 5–0, they went undefeated throughout the tournament and gained their biggest win so far against Iran by a score of 14–1. [1] [2]

The Ice Hockey World Championships are an annual international men's ice hockey tournament organized by the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF). Other popular sports in Uzbekistan are football, boxing, wrestling, and judo.

The IIHF U18 World Championship is an annual event organized by the International Ice Hockey Federation for national under-18 ice hockey teams from around the world. The tournament is usually played in April and is organized according to a system similar to the Ice Hockey World Championships and the IIHF World Junior Championship. The tournament was first held in 1999.

The IIHF Asian Oceanic U18 Championship was an annual event held by the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) each at the start of every year for national under-18 ice hockey teams from Asia and Oceania. The Championships first held in 1984 and was played every year until 2002 where the competition ceased as teams were integrated into the World U18 Championships.

It took place between 1 April and 6 April 2012 in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Thailand won the tournament after winning all four of their round robin games and finishing first in the standings. The United Arab Emirates finished second, losing only to Thailand and Malaysia finished in third place.

The 2022 IIHF U20 Asia and Oceania Championship was an international men's under-20 ice hockey tournament run by the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF). The tournament took place between 25 June and 2 July at Thailand International Ice Hockey Arena in Bangkok, Thailand, and was the sixth edition held since its formation in 2012 under the IIHF Asia and Oceania Championship series of tournaments. To be eligible as a "junior" player in this tournament, a player cannot be born earlier than 2002.

The 2023 IIHF U18 Asia and Oceania Championship was an international men's under-18 ice hockey tournament run by the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF). The tournament took place between 11–17 March, 2023 in Ulanbataar, Mongolia and was the first under-18 edition held since 2012. Uzbekistan placed first after winning all five of their games, while Turkmenistan finished second and Mongolia third. This was the first time that Uzbekistan had participated in any IIHF tournament and the first international ice hockey event ever hosted by Mongolia.
