The Uzbekistan national badminton team (Uzbek : Badminton bo'yicha O'zbekiston terma jamoasi) represents Uzbekistan in international badminton team competitions. [1] The Uzbekistani junior team have competed in the BWF World Junior Championships mixed team event, which is also called the Suhandinata Cup. The team also competed in the Badminton Asia Junior Championships.
The start of Uzbek badminton began in the 1950s when the country was still a union republic of the Soviet Union. [2] In 1963, the republic held its first national championships to crown the best players in the Uzbek region. [2] Soon after, the Uzbek team competed in the USSR National Badminton Team Championships along with other republics including Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Tajikistan. [2] The team managed to achieve 9th place out of the 14 republics in the championships. Since then, badminton in Uzbekistan grew in popularity, especially in the cities of Tashkent, Andijan and Navoiy. [2]
After the dissolution of the Soviet Union, the Uzbekistan Badminton Federation became affiliated with Badminton Asia and started sending national players to compete in Asian tournaments. [2]
Before gaining independence, the Uzbek mixed team competed in the USSR National Badminton Team Championships and placed 9th of 14. In 1991, the Uzbek mixed team competed in the last edition of the Spartakiad and achieved 6th place. [2]
The mixed team made their first international team competition debut at the 2023 Badminton Asia Mixed Team Championships. The team were grouped with China, South Korea and Singapore in Group A. The team finished at the bottom of the group after losing 5–0 the three teams and failed to qualify for the quarter-finals. [3] [4] [5]

The Team event tournament of the 2014 BWF World Junior Championships was the sixteenth tournament of the BWF World Junior Championships. It was held from April 7–11, 2014 in Alor Setar, Malaysia. According to the Badminton World Federation (BWF) 35 teams have confirmed their participation. The winner of the tournament would have Suhandinata Cup for about a year until the next BWF World Junior Championships Team Event is held.
Muhammad Rian Ardianto is an Indonesian badminton player. Born in Bantul, Yogyakarta SR, Ardianto plays for the Jaya Raya Jakarta club at national events. He won the men's doubles silver medal at the 2018 Asian Games, the bronze medals at the 2019 World Championships and at the 2017 SEA Games. Ardianto was part of Indonesia winning team at the 2020 Thomas Cup.
Yeo Jia Min is a Singaporean badminton player. She is a former World Junior No.1 and the first Singaporean in either the junior or senior categories to made it to the top of the BWF's ranking system.
Chico Aura Dwi Wardoyo is an Indonesian professional badminton player. He was a World junior silver medalist in 2016 and Asian Championships bronze medalist in 2022. Dwi Wardoyo also part of Indonesia winning team at the 2020 Thomas Cup.
Pitha Haningtyas Mentari is an Indonesian badminton player from Jaya Raya Jakarta badminton club. She won the gold medal at the 2017 World Junior Championships, and bronze medals at the 2019 and 2021 SEA Games in the mixed doubles with Rinov Rivaldy. Mentari was also a member of the Indonesian women's team that won the silver medal in 2019 and 2021 SEA Games.
The Wales national badminton team represents Wales in international badminton team competitions. It is controlled by Badminton Wales, the national organization for badminton in the country. Wales have never participated in the Thomas Cup and the Uber Cup. The team's last appearance in the international stage was at the 2007 Sudirman Cup.
The Belarus national badminton team represents Belarus in international badminton team competitions. The Belarusian team is managed by the Belarusian Badminton Federation (BBF) which organizes badminton championships and prepares Belarusian national badminton teams. The team was formed in 1992 after the association was found.
Putri Kusuma Wardani is an Indonesian badminton player affiliated with Exist Jakarta club.
The Zambia national badminton team represents Zambia in international badminton team competitions. The team is controlled by the Zambia Badminton Association.
The Tonga national badminton team represents Tonga in international badminton team competitions. The Tongan team debuted in the Oceania Badminton Championships mixed team event in 2016. The team finished in 5th place. The Tongan junior team debuted in the Oceania Junior Badminton Championships in 2015 and finished in 5th place.
The Zimbabwe national badminton team represents Zimbabwe in international team competitions and is controlled by the Zimbabwe Badminton Association, the governing body for Zimbabwean badminton. It is affiliated with the Badminton Confederation of Africa (BCA).
The Tunisia national badminton team represents Tunisia in international team competitions. The Tunisian national team is managed by the Tunisian Badminton Federation. The men's team debuted in the African Badminton Championships in 2018.
The Cambodia national badminton team represents Cambodia in international badminton team competitions. It is controlled by the Cambodia Badminton Federation. Cambodia have never competed in any BWF organized team tournaments.
The Venezuela national badminton team represents Venezuela in international badminton team competitions. It is controlled by the Venezuelan Badminton Association, the governing body for Venezuelan badminton. The Venezuelan junior team have competed in the BWF World Junior Championships mixed team event, which is also called the Suhandinata Cup.
The Timor-Leste national badminton team represents East Timor in international badminton competitions.
The Afghanistan national badminton team represents Afghanistan in international badminton team competitions. It is controlled by the Badminton Federation of Afghanistan and competes under the South Asian region. Afghanistan competed in the Asian Games individual event. The Afghan junior team has competed in the BWF World Junior Championships mixed team event, also known as the Suhandinata Cup. The team finished in 34th place.
The Turkmenistan national badminton team represents Turkmenistan in international badminton team competitions. Turkmenistan is one of the most isolated countries in the world. The national team is managed by the Turkmenistan Badminton Federation.
The Syria national badminton team represents Syria in international badminton team competitions. The national team is controlled by the Syria Arab Badminton Association. The national team is recognized in the BWF as the Syrian Arab Republic.
The Tajikistan national badminton team represents Tajikistan in international badminton team competitions. The national team is controlled by the Badminton Federation of Tajikistan, also known as BFT. Tajiki badminton has grown with the help of the Shuttle Time program organized by the Badminton World Federation.
The Kyrgyzstan national badminton team represents Kyrgyzstan in international badminton team competitions. The Kyrgyz national team is controlled by the Kyrgyzstan Badminton and Squash Federation located in Bishkek. The team used to compete under the Soviet Union in European tournaments before the USSR was dissolved.
