The 2015 Badminton Asia Junior Championships is an 18th edition of the Asia continental junior championships to crown the best U-19 badminton players across Asia. It was held in Bangkok, Thailand, from June 28 to July 5, 2015. [1]

Tournament

The 2015 Badminton Asia Junior Championships organized by the Badminton Association of Thailand and Badminton Asia Confederation. This tournament consists of mixed team competition, which was held from 28 June – 1 July, as well as the five individual events started from 1–5 July. [1]

Venue

This tournament was held at CPB Badminton and Sports Science Training Center in Bangkok, Thailand. [2]

Medalists

In the mixed team event, China team clinched the gold medal by ending the final battle against South Korea in only three straight matches. [3] China made a clean sweep after clinch all the individual events titles. [4]

Ihsan Maulana Mustofa Indonesian badminton player

Ihsan Maulana Mustofa is an Indonesian badminton player who plays in singles event. He is from PB. Djarum, a badminton club in Kudus, Central Java and has joined the club since 2010. He was a boys' singles bronze medalist of the 2013 World Junior Championships that was held in Bangkok, Thailand. He played in the decisive matches for Indonesia to win the team event at the 2015 and 2017 Southeast Asian Games.

This tournament was held in Bangkok, Thailand, between 9 and 17 July 2016. The championships consists of mixed team and individual events. There were 19 countries with over 250 players participating in this edition.

Yuta Watanabe is a Japanese badminton player. He is a member of the Nihon Unisys team, and national team A representative. He is known for his quick and explosive movements with his signature drop shot. Watanabe has collected three bronze medals at the World Junior Championships, and also four bronze at the Asian Junior Championships. Watanabe was selected to join the Japanese mixed team compete at the 2017 Sudirman Cup in Gold Coast, Australia, winning a gold medal in the qualification to Gold Coast at the 2017 Asia Mixed Team Championships in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, and the team finished in the semi-final round, took the bronze medal. The left-handed Watanabe has won the maiden Super 1000 tournament a total of four times, the first ever male player from Japan to win an All England Open title. First at the 2018 All England Open in the mixed doubles event partnered with Arisa Higashino, then in the 2020 All England Open in the men's doubles event with Hiroyuki Endo, and in both men's and mixed doubles in the 2021 All England Open, defending his men's doubles title with Hiroyuki Endo and winning the mixed doubles category with once again, Arisa Higashino. He won a mixed doubles bronze medal at the 2020 Summer Olympics.

He Jiting is a Chinese badminton player. As a junior player, his best achievements was winning the boys' doubles at the 2015 Asian and World Junior Championships, later won the mixed doubles at the 2016 Asian and World Junior Championships. He was part of the national team that lifted the Tong Yun Kai Cup at the 2019 Asia Mixed Team Championships, and at the 2021 Sudirman Cup.

The mixed doubles tournament of the 2016 Badminton Asia Junior Championships was held from July 13 to 17 at the CPB Badminton and Sports Science Training Center, Bangkok. The defending champions of the last edition were Zheng Siwei and Chen Qingchen from China. He Jiting / Du Yue of China and Pakin Kuna-Anuvit / Kwanchanok Sudjaipraparat of Thailand leads the seeding this year. The former mixed doubles bronze medalist in the last edition He and Du emerged as the champion after defeat the South Korean duo Kim Won-ho and Lee Yu-rim in the finals with the score 21–12, 19–21, 21–19.

The 2017 Badminton Asia Junior Championships is the 20th edition of the Asia continental junior championships to crown the best U-19 badminton players across Asia. This tournament was held in Jakarta, Indonesia, between 22 and 30 July 2017. There were 23 countries across Asia competing in this tournament.

Sabrina Chong Sook Chin is a Malaysian badminton player. She was part of the Malaysia junior team that won the silver medal at the 2005 Asian Junior Championships in the girls' team event after defeated by the Chinese team in the final. Chong joined the Malaysia squad that won the women's team gold medal at the 2009 Southeast Asian Games, and the team were awarded Best Female Olympians by the Deputy Prime Minister and Olympic Council of Malaysia. Partnered with Lim Khim Wah, they clinched the mixed doubles title at the 2010 Malaysia International tournament.

Liu Peixuan is a Chinese badminton player from Changsha, Hunan. He was selected to join national junior team competed at the 2009 Asian Junior Championships, winning two silver medals in the mixed doubles and team event. Liu later competed at the World Junior Championships, helped the team clinch the mixed team title, and won the bronze medal in the mixed doubles event. He won the senior international title at the 2010 India Grand Prix in the mixed doubles event partnered with Tang Jinhua.

Daniel Heo Kwang-hee is a South Korean professional badminton player who was educated at the Dankook University. He was selected to join the national team in 2012, and joined the Samsung Electro-Mechanics team in 2014. Heo was the bronze medalists at the 2012 World Junior Championships in the boys' singles and team event, and Asian Junior Championships in the team event. Heo later won the boys' singles and mixed team gold medals at the 2013 World Junior Championships, and the mixed team silver medal at the Asian Junior Championships. In the senior level tournament, Heo was the semi-finalists at the 2017 U.S. and 2018 New Zealand Open.

Kim Hye-jeong is a South Korean badminton player. She has shown her potential as a badminton player since she was young. Kim entered the regular training in the second grade of elementary school in Wanwol-dong, Masan, and was part of the school team that won the junior national championships in 2008. She won two times German Junior Open in 2014 and 2015 in the girls' doubles event, and clinched two titles at the 2015 Thailand Open in the girls' and mixed doubles event. Kim was part of the national junior team that won the mixed team silver medal at the 2014 and 2015 Asian Junior Championships, and in the individual event, she claim the mixed doubles bronze in 2014, and 2015 silver and bronze medals in the girls' and mixed doubles event respectively. At the 2016 World Junior Championships, she finished in the semifinals, and settled for the bronze medal. Kim joined the MG Saemaeul team in 2016, and selected to join the national team in 2018. She was born in the badminton family. Her mother Chung So-young, was the former 1992 Olympic gold medalist, and her father Kim Bum-shik, is a badminton coach.

The 2018 Badminton Asia Junior Championships is the 21st edition of the Asia continental junior championships to crown the best U-19 badminton players across Asia. This tournament was held in Bintaro, Jakarta, Indonesia, between 14 and 22 July 2018.

An Se-young Badminton player

An Se-young is a South Korean badminton player from Gwangju, who was awarded as 2019 Most Promising Player of the Year by the BWF. In 2018, she was selected to join the national team and became the first junior high school student in the Korean national team. She was part of the national junior team that clinched the mixed team title at the 2017 Asian Junior Championships. An later represented her country at the 2018 Uber Cup in Bangkok, and Asian Games in Jakarta, helped the team win a Uber Cup bronze. In 2019, she clinched the BWF World Tour title at the Super 300 New Zealand Open, beating the 2012 Olympic gold medalists Li Xuerui of China in the final.
