VTB United League is an international professional men's club basketball league that was founded in 2008. It is made up of mostly Russian clubs, along with one each from Belarus and Kazakhstan. Since 2013, it is the first tier of Russian professional club basketball. Therefore, the highest placed Russian team in the league can also be named the Russian national champions. The league is sponsored by Russian state-owned VTB Bank. In 2008 CSKA Moscow won VTB United League Promo-Cup, but this competition does not count as official VTB title. CSKA has dominated the league, having won majority of titles its existence. The VTB United League also holds a youth competition, the VTB United Youth League.

The VTB United League 2009–10 was the first complete season of the VTB United League, which is Eastern Europe's top-tier level competition for men's professional basketball clubs.

Evgeny Sergeyevich Kolesnikov is a Russian professional basketball player for Avtodor Saratov of the VTB United League. He is 1.94 m in height and he plays as a combo guard. He is also a member of the Russian national basketball team.

The 2011–12 Russian Professional Basketball League (PBL) was the second season of the Russian Professional League, and the 21st overall season of the Russian Professional Championship. CSKA Moscow won the title, by beating Khimki Moscow Region 2–0 in the league's playoff Finals.

The VTB United League 2011–12 was the third complete season of the VTB United League, which is Northern Europe and Eastern Europe's top-tier level men's professional club basketball competition. The tournament featured 18 teams, from 10 countries.

The 2010–11 Russian Professional Basketball League (PBL) was the first season of the Russian Professional League, and the 20th overall of the Russian Professional Championship. CSKA Moscow won the title, by beating Kimki Moscow Region 3–1 in the league's playoff Finals.

CSKA Moscow was the defending champion and successfully defended its title. This season, 13 teams participated in the league after four sides from the previous year left.

The 2017 VTB United League Playoffs were the concluding games of the 2016–17 VTB United League to determine the season champions. The Playoffs started on May 1, 2017. The champions or the runners-up of the Playoffs qualified for the 2017–18 EuroLeague.

The 2017–18 VTB United League was the 9th complete season of the VTB United League. It is also the fifth season that the league functions as the Russian domestic first tier level. It started on 5 October 2017 with the first round of the regular season and ended on 10 June 2018 with the championship game of the Final Four. CSKA Moscow were the defending champions.

The 2018–19 VTB United League was the 10th complete season of the VTB United League. It was also the sixth season that the league functions as the Russian domestic first tier level. It started in October 2018 with the first round of the regular season and ended in June 2019 with the last game of the finals.

The 2019–20 VTB United League was the 11th season of the VTB United League. It was the seventh season that the league functions as the Russian domestic first tier level.

The 2019–20 BC Zenit Saint Petersburg season will be the 17th season in the existence of the club and its 6th season as the team entitled Zenit. The club will play in the VTB United League and EuroLeague.

Devon Marquis Saddler is an American-born, naturalized Belarusian former professional basketball player. He played college basketball for the University of Delaware before playing professionally in Italy, Greece, Hungary, Belarus and Israel. A two-time Belarusian League champion with Tsmoki-Minsk, Saddler was named the Belarusian League MVP in 2019.

The 2020–21 VTB United League was the 12th season of the VTB United League. It was the eight season that the league functions as the Russian domestic first tier level.

The 2021–22 VTB United League was the 13th season of the VTB United League. It was the 9th season that the league functions as the Russian domestic first tier level. Two teams left the league mid-season because of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
