Vandalur taluk is a taluk located in south of the metropolitan city of Chennai, Chengalpattu district of the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. [1] The headquarters of the taluk is the town of Vandalur.

Vandalur taluk was previously a part of the Kanchipuram district. After the bifurcation of Kanchipuram district, Vandalur taluk became a part of the Chengalpattu district. [1] [3]
The taluk is administered by the Tahsildar office located in Vandalur. [4] The revenue officers from Chengalpattu manage the revenue collection. [5]
Kanchipuram district is one of the 38 districts in the state of Tamil Nadu in India. The area comprising the present day Kancheepuram district was earlier a part of Chingleput district. The original Chingleput district was split in 1997 into form the present day Kanchipuram and Tiruvallur districts.

It shares its boundaries with Alandur Taluk in Chennai District on the north, Kundrathur Taluk in Kanchipuram district on the west, Sholinganallur Taluk in Chennai District on the east.
