Vasyl Yakovlev (born 3 July 1972) is a Ukrainian former cyclist. He competed four Olympic Games. [1]
Yakovlev is an East Slavic surname derived from the masculine given name Yakov. Yakovleva is the feminine form.

The event was won by Mikhail Ignatiev of Russia, the nation's first victory in the men's points race. Spain's Joan Llaneras, the defending champion, took silver; he was the first and only person to win multiple medals in the relatively short-lived points race, and ended with three medals after another gold in 2008. Guido Fulst of Germany took bronze, the first medal in the event for that nation since 1900.

He won the bronze medal in the keirin event at the 2021 UCI Track Cycling World Championships representing Russia, and bronze medals in Sprint in the 2021 European Championship representing Russia, and in the 2024 European Championship representing Israel. In 2022 Yakovlev set a new unofficial world record in the 200m flying trial in 9.099 seconds. Iakovlev will represent Israel at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris in cycling in the Men's sprint on August 7-9, and the Men's keirin on August 10-11, 2024.
