Vegas Oil and Gas S.A. is a company based in Egypt focusing on petroleum exploration and gas exploration. Headquartered in Athens, but mainly operating from the Cairo suburb of Maadi. [1]

Vegas is wholly owned by the Vardinogiannis family.

Activities

Vegas is also a large E&P group of companies with assets in USA, Egypt and Yemen. [2]

It is 50% shareholder and operator of the NW Gemsa concession, Circle Oil have a 40% interest and Sea Dragon Energy have the remaining 10%. [3] Oil production from the NW Gemsa concession peaked at 9,000 bbl/d (1,400 m3/d). [4] All gas currently produced from the field is flared, due to sub-economic, low volumes. [5]

Vegas is a 35% shareholder in the Alam El Shawish West concession, with Shell Egypt (operator, 40%), GDF Suez 25%. [6]

It is operator and 50% shareholder of the East Ghazalat concession (Western Desert), with TransGlobe Energy Corporation holding the remaining 50%. [7] [8]

Recent news

In August 2013, Vegas announced it had discovered oil, gas and condensate in Egypt. [9]

Shah Deniz gas field

Shah Deniz gas field is the largest natural gas field in Azerbaijan. It is situated in the South Caspian Sea, off the coast of Azerbaijan, approximately 70 kilometres (43 mi) southeast of Baku, at a depth of 600 metres (2,000 ft). The field covers approximately 860 square kilometres (330 sq mi). Stretching out over 140 square kilometres, the reservoir is similar in size and shape to Manhattan Island.

Nord Stream AG

Nord Stream AG is a consortium for construction and operation of the Nord Stream submarine pipeline between Vyborg in Russia and Greifswald in Germany. The consortium was incorporated in Zug, Switzerland, on 30 November 2005. The original name of company was the North European Gas Pipeline Company. The company was renamed to Nord Stream AG on 4 October 2006. Its sister company Nord Stream 2 AG has the same headquarters and management but it is wholly owned by Gazprom.

NOGAT is a natural gas pipeline system which connects Dutch continental shelf with an onshore gas plant and terminal at Den Helder, the Netherlands. The system has been operational since 1992. The Danish continental shelf pipeline system is connected to the NOGAT through the Tyra West – F3 pipeline and the German continental shelf pipeline system is connected to the NOGAT through A6-F3 pipeline.

As of 2018 it was the third largest oil company in the world by oil and gas reserves.

Crescent Petroleum

Crescent Petroleum is the first and largest private upstream oil and gas company in the Middle East. Founded in 1971, Crescent Petroleum is headquartered in the Emirate of Sharjah, United Arab Emirates (UAE), with current operations in both the UAE and the Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KRI).

The Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC) is a national oil company of Egypt. EGPC's business includes crude oil exploration, refining, and storage. The company also produces lubricants and greases and offers services for oil and gas projects.

The Khvalynskoye gas field is a conventional gas condensate field located in the Kazakhstan's sector in the northern part of the Caspian Sea. It lies about 260 kilometres (160 mi) from Astrakhan at a sea depth of 25 to 30 metres. The operator of the project is Lukoil with 50% stake. Other partners are KazMunayGas (25%), Total S.A. (17%), and GDF Suez (8%).

Circle Oil was an oil and gas exploration and production company based in Limerick in the Republic of Ireland. Its operations, all of which were in North Africa, specifically Egypt, Morocco and Tunisia, initially focused on oil exploration but expanded to include production.

A floating liquefied natural gas (FLNG) facility is a floating production storage and offloading unit that conducts liquefied natural gas (LNG) operations for developing offshore natural gas resources. Floating above an offshore natural gas field, the FLNG facility produces, liquefies, stores and transfers LNG at sea before carriers ship it directly to markets.

Absheron gas field

The Absheron gas field is an offshore natural gas field in the Caspian Sea. The field is located 100 kilometres (62 mi) southeast of Baku and 25 kilometres (16 mi) northeast of the Shah Deniz gas field. It covers approximately 270 square kilometres (100 sq mi).

Heilo prospect is an oil exploration area in the Barents Sea off Norway. It is located east of the Goliat field and northwest of the Nucula oil and gas field.

The Beregovoye Field is a natural gas field in the northeast of Purovsky District, Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, Russia. The field is developed by Sibneftegaz, a joint venture of Novatek and Itera. Sibneftegaz holds the exploration and development license for the Beregovoy license area until 2023.

Dragon Oil

Dragon Oil plc is an independent international oil and gas exploration, development and production business. It is based and registered in Dubai and its operations are primarily located in Turkmenistan, and is present in Iraq, Algeria, Egypt, Afghanistan and Tunisia. The company was listed on the Irish Stock Exchange until it was acquired by the Emirates National Oil Company (ENOC). It is now a wholly owned upstream subsidiary of the ENOC-Group.

The Morgan oil field is an oil field located in the Gulf of Suez. It was discovered in 1965 and developed by Gulf of Suez Petroleum Company. It began production in 1966 and produces oil and natural gas. This is the Egyptian account of discovery for reasons of gaining back the Sinai from Israel in the Camp David Accords in 1977. In fact, King Resources Company of the Israel MidBar Concession (of which King Resources Company was a Partner and the Operator) actually made the major producing discovery in 1969 at initial production of 110,000 barrels of oil per day. The total proven reserves of the Morgan oil field are around 2.7 billion barrels (362×106tonnes), and production is centered on 40,000 barrels per day (6,400 m3/d).

Nobel Oil Group UK based oil corporation

The Nobel Oil Group is a corporate group operating primarily in the Republic of Azerbaijan, USA, UK as well as in Romania. Registered in the UK, The Group provides integrated operating services within the oil and gas sector and is also developing its exploration and production capabilities.

Sharjah National Oil Corporation

SNOC is an Oil and Gas producer based in Sharjah, UAE. Established by Emiri decree in 2010, SNOC is a corporation wholly owned by the government of the Emirate of Sharjah. SNOC is the operator of the Sajaa Assets located in Sharjah, UAE. The Sajaa Assets consist of four gas fields, a hydrocarbon processing complex and two marine terminals.
