Victor Lau is the past leader of the Green Party of Saskatchewan, elected following the resignation of Larissa Shasko. He has been leader once previously, and was Deputy Leader under Shasko. [1] [2] [3] [4]

Lau has been involved with the Saskatchewan Greens since their founding as the "New Green Alliance" in 1998. He has also been a union steward with UFCW Local 1400. [5]

2011 Saskatchewan general election

The 2011 Saskatchewan general election was held on November 7, 2011, to elect 58 members of the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan (MLAs). The election was called on October 10 by the Lieutenant Governor of Saskatchewan, on the advice of Premier Brad Wall. Wall's Saskatchewan Party government was re-elected with an increased majority of 49 seats, the third-largest majority government in the province's history. The opposition New Democratic Party was cut down to only nine ridings, its worst showing in almost 30 years.

Larissa Shasko is a Canadian politician and the former leader of the Green Party of Saskatchewan, elected in April 2009 at the AGM. Shasko was a student at the University of Regina where she is studying Political Science. In addition to her work with the GPS she is also an active member of the Green Party of Canada. She was serving as a Councilor at Large and as the Finance and Administrative Chair with the Young Greens Council. Shasko has been a candidate for the Green Party three times, twice federally in the riding of Palliser, and once provincially in the riding of Moose Jaw Wakamow (2007). She stepped down as the leader of the Green Party in 2011.

James Peter Edward Shaw is a New Zealand politician and a leader of the Green Party of Aotearoa New Zealand. Voters elected Shaw to the New Zealand parliament at the 2014 general election as a list representative of the Green Party. The party selected Shaw as its male co-leader in May 2015. Following Metiria Turei's resignation in August 2017, Shaw became the party's sole leader for the duration of the 2017 general election.
