The Victoria Philharmonic Choir is an 80-voice auditioned choir based in Victoria, British Columbia. Conducted since 2009, by artistic director Peter Butterfield, the choir performs a wide range of a cappella and accompanied music, and collaborates with or performs with community and professional vocal soloists and musicians, including the Victoria Symphony.
The Victoria Philharmonic Choir (VPC) was created June 2005, as a non-profit performing arts organization. April 2009, music director Peter Butterfield was appointed. Founding artistic director Simon Capet led the choir from June 2005 to January 2009.
Victoria Philharmonic Choir performs, on average, four concert events each season. The concerts include a variety of accompanied and unaccompanied mixed voice choral pieces. The choral repertoire is designed by artistic director Peter Butterfield in collaboration with choir manager, Sherry LePage. The VPC performs a community Christmas Carol Sing-a-Long each year. [1] As well, the VPC hosts an annual "Summer Voices" learning event, a week long choral workshop that culminates in a live performance, usually scheduled in the first or second week of July.
Among the works performed by the Victoria Philharmonic Choir are: Carmina Burana by Carl Orff, Ode on St. Cecillia's Day by George Frederic Handel, Bach's St Matthew Passion , Verdi's Requiem, The Armed Man: A Mass for Peace by Karl Jenkins, Convoy PQ 17 by Christopher Butterfield, Vespro della Beata Vergine by Monteverdi, Haydn's Theresienmesse and Mozart's Requiem . This choir has been involved in many musical collaborations with noted artists such as: the Band Naden Band of the Royal Canadian Navy, the Victoria Symphony conducted by Tania Miller, the Victoria Civic Orchestra, dance troupe Coleman Lemieux & Compagnie and the Victoria Choral Society. [3]

Eugene Concert Choir is a choral masterworks organization in Eugene, Oregon, that consists of three performing ensembles: the 100-voice Eugene Concert Choir (ECC), the 36-voice chamber choir Eugene Vocal Arts (EVA), and the associated professional chamber orchestra Eugene Concert Orchestra. The organization is a Resident Company of the Hult Center for the Performing Arts, which is the primary performance venue for the choirs. Eugene Vocal Arts also regularly performs at The University of Oregon's Beall Concert Hall. Community and educational outreach is an important element in the organization and the ECCO program annually reaches 1,000+ children through in-school presentations. Dr. Diane Retallack has been the Artistic Director and Conductor since 1985.
Kent Tritle is a choral conductor and organist in New York City, United States. He is the current director of the professional chorus Musica Sacra and of the Oratorio Society of New York, and director of cathedral music and organist at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine. He is a concert organist, including organist of the New York Philharmonic and the American Symphony Orchestra. He has been Director of Choral Activities at the Manhattan School of Music, and on the graduate faculty of the Juilliard School.
Simon Halsey, CBE is an English choral conductor. He is the Chorus Director of the City of Birmingham Symphony Chorus, a position he has held since 1983, and has been Chorus Director of the London Symphony Chorus since 2012. He is also artistic director of the Berlin Philharmonic Youth Choral Programme and the director of the BBC Proms Youth Choir, and Conductor Laureate of the Berlin Radio Choir. He is Professor and Director of Choral Activities at the University of Birmingham.
Pacific Chorale, founded in 1968, is a professional chorus performing in Costa Mesa, California at the Renée and Henry Segerstom Concert Hall at Segerstrom Center for the Arts.
The choirs at Brigham Young University (BYU) consist of four auditioned choirs: the BYU Singers, Concert Choir, Men's Chorus, and Women's Chorus. Each choir is highly accomplished and performs from an extensive repertoire. Together, the choirs have recorded and released a total of 23 albums. The choirs perform throughout the academic year. Admission into each choir is by audition, carried out in the weeks leading up to the fall semester. Each ensemble requires a two-semester commitment.
The New London Children's Choir is a children's choir which rehearses at Highgate Primary School in North London, giving singing opportunities to members aged seven to eighteen. Members live in London and surrounding areas. It was founded in 1991 by Artistic Director Ronald Corp. As well as performing its own concerts, the choir has sung with orchestras and ensembles in many concert halls and opera houses worldwide and features on several film and TV soundtracks and CDs.
Bradford Festival Choral Society was founded as a direct result of the opening of St George's Hall in 1853. A massed choir of over 200 singers from far and wide was formed for the first Bradford Musical Festival which took place that year. When the second festival took place in 1856 another choir, consisting of rather more locally based singers, was formed and at the end of the festival it was felt wasteful to disband a group which had already gained such a high reputation. A meeting was held on 17 November 1856 under the chairmanship of Samuel Smith, the original instigator of the construction of St George's Hall, and Bradford Festival Choral Society came into being with Mr Smith as its first President. The conductor was William Jackson who had been the highly successful trainer of the chorus for both festivals. The choir sang and rehearsed at the Hall and soon gained the nickname of the “Coffee and Bun Society” as refreshments were provided for those members travelling from a distance. This arrangement was also intended to discourage possible visits to licensed premises before rehearsal!

Andrew Keith Wailes is an Australian conductor and music director. Winner of the Australasian International Choral Conducting Competition in Brisbane in 1999, he is the current Music Director and Chief Conductor of the Royal Melbourne Philharmonic Choir and Orchestra, Artistic Director of The Australian Children's Choir, Principal Conductor of the Melbourne University Choral Society, Music Director and Conductor of the Box Hill Chorale, and Director of the Australian Catholic University Melbourne Campus Choir. He is a former President of the Australian Intervarsity Choral Societies Association, and currently is Artistic Administrator of The Chamber Strings of Melbourne.
The London Philharmonic Choir (LPC) is one of the leading independent British choirs in the United Kingdom based in London. The Patron is Princess Alexandra, The Hon Lady Ogilvy and Sir Mark Elder is President. The choir, comprising more than 200 members, holds charitable status and is governed by a committee of 6 elected directors. Peter Butterfield is a Canadian conductor and classical tenor. In 2003 he founded the VancouverVoices and since 2009 he has been the director of the Victoria Philharmonic Choir. As a singer he has performed throughout Europe, Asia, and North America; working primarily as a concert singer since the early 1980s. He has also appeared on radio and television programs in Canada, Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United States, and the United Kingdom. He is married to mezzo-soprano Sarah Fryer.
