Joyce Woodhouse is an American politician and a former member of the Nevada Senate. She represented the 5th district from 2006 to 2010 and then from 2012 to 2019, when she became unable to run for re-election due to term limits.

The 2010 Nevada gubernatorial election was held on Tuesday, November 2, 2010, to elect the governor of Nevada, who would serve a four-year term to begin on January 3, 2011. Despite speculation that incumbent Republican governor Jim Gibbons would not run for a second term due to low approval ratings, he ran for re-election. He struggled in the polls, and ultimately federal judge and former attorney general of Nevada Brian Sandoval secured the nomination. Sandoval defeated Democrat Rory Reid, son of then-current U.S. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, who won his fifth term in the Senate on the same ballot.

The 2024 Las Vegas mayoral election took place on June 11, 2024, with a runoff scheduled for November 5 because no candidate surpassed 50% of the vote in the first round. It will elect the mayor of Las Vegas, Nevada. Incumbent independent mayor Carolyn Goodman is term-limited and cannot seek re-election to a fourth term in office. This is the first mayoral election in Las Vegas since 1995 where no candidates are from the Goodman family. On November 7, former Congresswoman Shelley Berkley became the mayor-elect of Las Vegas as Las Vegas City Councilwoman Victoria Seaman conceded the race. Berkley was sworn in on December 4, 2024.
