Vigilio Fait (born 14 October 1962 in Rovereto, Trentino) is an Italian sport shooter. [2] Since 1997, Fait had won a total of ten medals (three golds, four silver, and three bronze) for both air and free pistol at the ISSF World Cup series. [3] He also captured a silver medal in the men's 50 m pistol at the 2006 ISSF World Shooting Championships in Zagreb, Croatia, accumulating a score of 662.8 points. [4] [5] Fait is a four-time Olympian, and a member of Revereto National Shooting Club (Italian : Tiro a Segno Nazionale Rovereto) under his coach Giancarlo Tosi. [1]

Fait made his official debut for the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, Georgia, representing his nation Italy. He achieved a fifth-place finish in the 50 m pistol, and a seventeenth-place finish in the 10 m air pistol, accumulating scores of 659.8 and 578 points, respectively. [3] Fait also competed at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, and at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, but he neither reached the final round, nor claimed an Olympic medal.

Twelve years after competing in his first Olympics, Fait qualified for his fourth Italian team, as a 46-year-old, at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing by placing second in men's free pistol from the World Championships. [4] He scored a total of 580 targets in the preliminary rounds of the men's 10 m air pistol, by one point ahead of Bulgarian shooter and two-time Olympic champion Tanyu Kiryakov from the final attempt, finishing only in ninth place. [6] Three days later, Fait placed twenty-eighth in his second event, 50 m pistol, by one point behind North Korea's Ryu Myong-Yon from the final attempt, with a total score of 551 targets. [7]

The men's ISSF 50 meter pistol event at the 2008 Olympic Games took place on August 12 at the Beijing Shooting Range Hall. There were 45 competitors from 32 nations. The event was won by Jin Jong-oh of South Korea, the first of his three consecutive victories in the free pistol. It was his second medal, after taking silver in 2004; he was the 10th man to win multiple medals in the event.

The men's ISSF 50 meter pistol competition at the 2000 Summer Olympics was held on 19 September. There were 36 competitors from 27 nations. Nations had been limited to two shooters each since the 1952 Games. Tanyu Kiryakov won, becoming the first shooter to win Olympic gold medals in both this event and 10 metre air pistol. 2.7 points behind, Igor Basinski won his fourth Olympic medal. Kiryakov's gold was Bulgaria's first free pistol victory, and the first medal of any color in the event for the nation since 1980. Martin Tenk's bronze was the Czech Republic's first medal in the event.

Niccolò Campriani is an Italian sport shooter and shooting coach. He competed at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing in the men's 10 metre air rifle, men's small-bore rifle, three positions, 50 metres and men's small-bore rifle, prone, 50 metres, and at the 2012 Summer Olympics in the men's 10 metre air rifle, winning silver, and in the men's 50 metre rifle three positions, where he won gold with a total of 1278.5 points.

Nguyen Manh Tuong is a Vietnamese sport shooter. He won a bronze medal for the men's 25 m centre-fire pistol (CFP) at the 2002 Asian Games in Busan, South Korea, with a score of 586 points.

Lee Dae-myung is a South Korean sport shooter. He won a silver medal in the men's 50 m free pistol at the 2010 ISSF World Shooting Championships in Munich, Germany, accumulating a score of 665.2 targets. He also captured two more gold medals for air pistol shooting at the 2010 Asian Games in Guangzhou, China, and at the 2012 ISSF World Cup in Sydney, Australia, with scores of 685.8 and 691.3 points, respectively.

Lee Ho-lim is a South Korean sport shooter. She won a gold medal in the women's air pistol at the 2005 ISSF World Cup in Milan, Italy, accumulating a score of 485.9 targets. She also captured a bronze medal for the women's 25 m sport pistol at the 2010 Asian Games in Guangzhou, China, with a score of 782.4 points.

Michiko Hasegawa-Fukushima is a Japanese sport shooter. Fukushima had won a total of nine medals for both air and sport pistol at the ISSF World Cup series. She also captured two medals in the same events at the 1986 Asian Games in Seoul, South Korea.

Roman Romanovych Bondaruk is a Ukrainian sport shooter.

Stênio Akiro Yamamoto is a Brazilian sport shooter of Japanese descent. He won a silver medal in the free pistol at the 2007 ISSF World Cup series in Munich, Germany, with a score of 660.8 points.

Júlio Antonio de Souza e Almeida is a Brazilian sport shooter. Almeida had won a total of four medals in pistol shooting at the Pan American Games. He also captured a silver and a bronze medal in centre-fire and standard pistol at the 2010 ISSF World Shooting Championships in Munich, Germany, with scores of 586 and 574, respectively.

María del Pilar Fernández Julián is a Spanish sport shooter. Fernandez had won a total of nine medals in both air and sport pistol at the ISSF World Cup series.

Christoph Schmid is a Swiss sport shooter. He won a silver medal in the men's 50 m free pistol at the 2007 ISSF World Cup series in Fort Benning, Georgia, accumulating a score of 659.7 points.

Mauro Badaracchi is an Italian sport shooter. He won two gold medals for the air pistol at the 2008 ISSF World Cup in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and at the 2010 ISSF World Cup in Belgrade, Serbia, accumulating scores of 684.4 and 685.9 points, respectively. This article details the qualifying phase for shooting at the 2016 Summer Olympics. 366 quota places for the Games are entitled to the shooters coming from their respective NOCs, based on the results at designated ISSF supervised Championships subjected to the ISSF rules from August 1, 2014 to March 31, 2016, while the remaining twenty-four are available to the eligible NOCs under the Tripartite Commission Invitation to get a total quota of 390. Host nation Brazil has been guaranteed nine quota places with one in each of the following events: 50 m rifle prone, 25 m rapid fire pistol, 10 m air pistol, 10 m air rifle (women), trap, and skeet.

Amanda Haydee Mondol Cuellar is a Colombian sport shooter. She earned a silver medal in the air pistol at the 2003 Pan American Games in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, and was selected to compete for Colombia, as the oldest female athlete, at the 2004 Summer Olympics. Mondol is also a full-time member of Target Shooting Club in her native Bogotá, under her personal coach Luis Boduero.

Vladimir Nikolayevich Issachenko is a Kazakh sport shooter. He finished sixth in free pistol shooting at the 2004 Summer Olympics, and eventually won a bronze medal in the standard pistol at the 2006 Asian Games in Doha, Qatar. Having pursued the sport since the age of eleven, Issachenko trained as a member of the shooting team for Dynamo Sport Club in Almaty under his personal coach and two-time Olympic bronze medalist Vladimir Vokhmyanin.

Sabrina Sena is an Italian sport shooter. She has been selected to compete for Italy in rifle shooting at the 2004 Summer Olympics and has won a career total of three medals, one gold and two silver, in a major international competition, spanning the World Cup series and the European Championships. Sena is a member of her town's firing shooting range, and also, a resident athlete of the Italy national shooting team under Swiss-born rifle head coach and five-time Olympian Gabriele Bühlmann.

Isidro Lorenzo González is a Spanish sport shooter. He was selected to compete for Spain as a 46-year-old at the 2004 Summer Olympics, and eventually won a bronze medal in free pistol shooting at the 2006 ISSF World Cup meet in Guangzhou, China. Lorenzo also trains under head coach Cezary Staniszewski for twelve years as a full-fledged member of the Spanish pistol shooting team.
