Vinod Kumar Binny (born 1973) is an Indian politician and was an MLA from Laxmi Nagar in Delhi.
He was member of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) from 2013 to 2014. [2] He later joined Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in 2015. [3]
Before joining AAP in 2013,he contested election twice as an independent candidate and won both the times. During Delhi elections held in 2013,he was elected as an MLA from Laxmi Nagar constituency. [4] He had defeated Ashok Kumar Walia of Indian National Congress by around 8,000 votes. [5] In December 2013,he had walked out of a meeting in which the AAP decided its members for the cabinet,but was reportedly talked out of escalating the crisis. In January 2014,Binny accused the AAP of betraying people of Delhi and straying from principles. [6] On 26 January 2014,he was expelled from AAP in a disciplinary action and his primary membership of the party was terminated. [2] He moved to Delhi High Court seeking protection of his MLA rights and for continuing as an independent legislator. [7]
Before 2015 Delhi Legislative Assembly election,he joined BJP on 18 January 2015 and contested from Patparganj. [3] He lost against his former colleague from Aam Aadmi Party,Manish Sisodia by a margin of 28,761 votes.
Alka Lamba is an Indian politician serving for the President of All India Mahila Congress. After serving the Indian National Congress in various capacities for more than 20 years,she quit to join the Aam Aadmi Party on 26 December 2014. In February 2015,Lamba was elected to the Delhi Legislative Assembly from Chandni Chowk. She quit AAP in September 2019 citing disrespect for her within the party. On 6 September 2019,she formally returned to the Congress party. She was however disqualified from the Delhi assembly by Delhi speaker for violating the rules for party change over a gesture of strong warning to tainted turncoats.

Aam Aadmi Party Delhi or AAP Delhi is a state wing of Aam Aadmi Party. AAP became a state party in Delhi in 2013. The party contested its first election in Delhi in 2013 and was successful in winning 28 seats in a hung assembly. It got outside support from Indian National Congress and Arvind Kejriwal became the Chief Minister of Delhi but he resigned after 49 days due to differences with INC. In the following 2015 elections,AAP won 67 of the 70 seats in the assembly,limiting BJP at just 3 seats and INC with none and Kejriwal was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Delhi. AAP formed the government again in the subsequent 2020 Delhi Legislative Assembly election,winning 62 seats.
