Virginia's 9th House of Delegates district is one of 100 seats in the Virginia House of Delegates, the lower house of the state's bicameral legislature. District 9 consists parts of Fairfax County. It has been represented by Democrat Karrie Delaney since 2024. [1]
In 2021, prior to redistricting, Williams won the Republican nomination defeating incumbent Charles Poindexter . [2] In the November 2021 general election, he faced Democrat Bridgette Craighead. [3] [4] [5]

District 8 containts portions of Fairfax Countyy. It is currenlty represented Democrat Irene Shin. The district was previously represented by Republican Joseph McNamara, who was redistricted out, and prior by Greg Habeeb from 2012 until his resignation in August 2018. In 2017, he won against Democrat Steve McBride.

District 24 represents the cities of Buena Vista and Lexington; counties of Bath and Rockbridge; and parts of Amherst and Augusta counties. Benjamin L. Cline held this seat until his 2018 election to Virginia's 6th congressional district. In a Republican firehouse primary, Rockbridge supervisor Ronnie Campbell won the Republican nomination by one vote. Christian Worth won the Democratic nomination. Campbell won the special election December 18., and held the seat for nearly four years until his death on December 13, 2022. Ellen Campbell was elected in a 2023 special election to succeed her husband.
Schuyler Thomas VanValkenburg is an American teacher and politician. He was elected to the Virginia House of Delegates representing the 72nd District on November 7, 2017, to replace retiring delegate Jimmie Massie. He defeated Republicans Eddie Whitlock and GayDonna Vandergriff in the 2017 and 2019 elections, respectively. In the 2023 state elections, VanValkenburg was elected over incumbent Siobhan Dunnavant in the newly redrawn 16th District. The race was considered highly competitive for control of the State Senate.
Ibraheem S. Samirah is an American politician. He served as a member of the Virginia House of Delegates from the 86th district from 2019 to 2022. First elected in a special election, he was defeated for re-election in the Democratic primary by Irene Shin in June 2021.

Democrats gained 3 seats, winning back control with a 51-49 majority after having previously lost it in 2021.
The 2023 Virginia Senate election was held on Tuesday, November 7, 2023, concurrently with elections for the Virginia House of Delegates, to elect senators to all 40 seats in the Senate of Virginia for the 163rd and 164th Virginia Assembly. Nomination primaries held through the Department of Elections were held June 20, 2023. These were the first elections held following redistricting as a result of the 2020 census.
