Virginia's 44th House of Delegates district elects one of 100 seats in the Virginia House of Delegates, the lower house of the state's bicameral legislature. District 44 represents the counties of Washington and Russell (partial), and the City of Bristol. [1]

District 44, representing Washington County, Virginia, the City of Bristol, and part of Russell County is located in Virginia's 9th Congressional District. [2]
Incumbent Democrat Paul Krizek first took office in 2016, [2] after winning an uncontested general election in November 2015. [3] He was re-elected in 2017, again without facing an opponent. [3] In November 2019, Krizek was challenged by Republican Richard Hayden. [3] Krizek won the contest with 70.67% of the vote. [4]
L. Kaye Kory is an American politician. Since 2010 she has served in the Virginia House of Delegates, representing the 38th district in Fairfax County. She served on the Fairfax County School Board 1999–2009. Kory is a member of the Democratic Party.

Virginia's 42nd House of Delegates district elects one of 100 seats in the Virginia House of Delegates, the lower house of the state's bicameral legislature. Under a redistricting plan effective for the 2023 Virginia House of Delegates election, the district number was reassigned from northern Virginia's Fairfax County to a new southwestern Virginia district formed from parts of the previous districts 12, 7 and 8, including the independent city of Radford, Giles County, and parts of Montgomery and Pulaski counties. The old 12th District included Radford, Giles and different parts of Pulaski and Montgomery counties. Significantly, the new 42nd district no longer includes the Montgomery County town of Blacksburg, which had been home to previous Democrat delegates from the 12th, Joan Munford, Jim Shuler and Chris Hurst.

District 64, located in Isle of Wight County, Prince George County, Suffolk, Surry County, was represented by Republican Rick Morris from 2012 to 2018. She serves as the House Majority Caucus Chair and represents the 96th district, comprising parts of James City County and York County. Because of changes to district lines from redistricting, Batten's district has changed to become the new 71st District, which includes the entire City of Williamsburg and portions of James City County and New Kent County.

The 2023 Virginia Senate election is scheduled to be held on Tuesday, November 7, 2023, concurrently with elections for the Virginia House of Delegates, to elect senators to all 40 seats in the Senate of Virginia for the 163rd and 164th Virginia Assembly. Nomination primaries held through the Department of Elections were held June 20, 2023. These will be the first elections held following redistricting as a result of the 2020 census.
