Vishesh Bhatt is an Indian filmmaker who works in Hindi cinema. He is the namesake of the film production company Vishesh Films, run by his father Mukesh Bhatt and uncle Mahesh Bhatt, noted Bollywood film director.

Career

He studied filmmaking at the Tisch School of Arts, NYU & USC. Currently at age 32, he heads strategy, content development, creatives, marketing, and is responsible for all digital initiatives (including one of the first and largest online partnerships with Amazon) at Vishesh Films. [1] [2] [3] [4]

In his capacity as a writer, filmmaker and producer, Vishesh has created several blockbuster franchises with fresh talent. At the age of 21, he wrote and produced "Jannat", the first film on the dark side of India's most revered sport, cricket, which went on to become a huge blockbuster and a big franchise. He also directed for the superhit franchise Murder [5] at age 27, which was selected for several local awards and the Shanghai Film Festival. He was recently invited to Harvard Business School to speak on the changing landscape of Bollywood & Bollywood beyond India.

It became India's official entry for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film for that year. The 1986 film Naam was his first piece of commercial cinema. In 1987, he turned producer with the film Kabzaa under the banner, "Vishesh Films", with his brother Mukesh Bhatt.

The film was inspired by the 1976 American film Taxi Driver. This film was remade in Tamil as Appu (2000). A sequel, Sadak 2, was released on 28 August 2020 on Disney+ Hotstar.

The film deals with issues of the ghosts which are allegedly prevalent in India and the world around us. The film attempts to challenge one's beliefs about paranormal phenomena. Emraan Hashmi plays a painter, named Prithvi, who has an extraordinary gift, the ability to paint the future. His paintings tell Nandita's future.

Murder 3 is a 2013 Indian Hindi-language psychological thriller film. It is the third instalment in the Murder film series and sequel to the 2011 film, Murder 2. Directed by Vishesh Bhatt and produced by Mukesh Bhatt from Vishesh Films. This is the third installment in the series and unlike its predecessors, is an official remake of the Colombian thriller The Hidden Face. Murder 3 was released on 15 February 2013 to mixed reviews and was a flop.

Murder is a series of Indian thriller films produced by Mahesh Bhatt and Mukesh Bhatt under the banner of Vishesh Films. The first film directed by Anurag Basu was released in 2004, second film by Mohit Suri was released in 2011, and third film by Vishesh Bhatt was released in 2013. A fourth film currently titled Murder 4 is stated to be under production.

<i>Ya Rab</i> 2014 Indian film

Ya Rab is a 2014 Indian Hindi-language film directed by Hasnain Hyderabadwala, and starring Ajaz Khan, Arjumman Mughal, Raju Kher, Vikram Singh and Imran Hasnee. <i>Sadak 2</i> 2020 film by Mahesh Bhatt

Sadak 2 is a 2020 Indian Hindi-language action thriller road film directed by Mahesh Bhatt and produced by Fox Star Studios and Mukesh Bhatt under their banner Vishesh Films. A sequel to the 1991 film Sadak, it stars Sanjay Dutt, Alia Bhatt and Aditya Roy Kapur in the lead roles with an ensemble supporting cast, while Pooja Bhatt makes a special appearance. The film marks Mahesh Bhatt's return as a director after 20 years. The film's story takes place twenty-nine years after the events of its predecessor.

The Bhatt family is a prominent Indian family associated with and involved in the Hindi film industry. Nanabhai Bhatt was in relationship with a Shia Muslim actress, Shirin Mohammad Ali since 1939. The couple had six children – Sheila Bhatt, Purnima Bhasin, Kumkum Saigal, Mahesh Bhatt, Heena Suri and Mukesh Bhatt.
