The Bhatt family is a prominent Indian family associated with and involved in the Hindi film industry. [1] [2] The family, spanning at least three generations, is involved in the films. Nanabhai Bhatt was in relationship with a Shia Muslim actress, Shirin Mohammad Ali since 1939. The couple had six children – Sheila Bhatt, Purnima Bhasin, Kumkum Saigal, Mahesh Bhatt, Heena Suri and Mukesh Bhatt. [3] [4] And from the second relationship of Bhatt with Hemlata Mukherji had three children – Robin Bhatt, Parmesh Bhatt, and Mamta Bhatt. [5] Later their children's have been Prominent personalities in Bollywood including, Suneel Darshan, Dharmesh Darshan, Emraan Hashmi, Vishesh Bhatt, Pooja Bhatt, Rahul Bhatt, Alia Bhatt, Mohit Suri, and Smilie Suri. Overview

The Bhatt family are Indian Gujarati Hindu Nagar Brahmin fluent in several Hindustani languages including (Gujarati and Hindi). Members of the family also respectively have English, Scottish, German, Kashmiri Pandit, Armenian, and Burmese ethnic roots through various maternal lines. Thereafter, Bhatt brother (Mahesh and Mukesh) joined hands to establish Vishesh Films and then provided stories and screenplays for over forty films, many of which were box-office successes. [7] Owing to differences between the brothers, Mukesh took over Vishesh Films and, in May 2021, it was publicly announced that Mahesh was no longer associated with the firm. [8]
