Mumbai is the capital city of the Indian state of Maharashtra and the de facto financial centre of India. According to the United Nations, as of 2018, Mumbai is the second-most populous city in India after Delhi and the eighth-most populous city in the world with a population of roughly 20 million. The Konkan Railway is one of the 19 railway zones in India with its headquarters at CBD Belapur in Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. The first passenger train ran on Konkan railway tracks on 20 March 1993, between Udupi and Mangalore. During its initial years of operation in the mountainous Konkan region, a number of accidents prompted Konkan Railway to implement new technology. Anti-collision devices, the Sky Bus and roll-on/roll-off are several of the railway's innovations. The 756.25 km (469.91 mi) long railway line connects the states of Maharashtra, Goa and Karnataka. The first train on the completed track was sent off on 26 January 1998.

Anil Kakodkar is an Indian nuclear physicist and mechanical engineer. He was the chairman of the Atomic Energy Commission of India and the Secretary to the Government of India, he was the Director of the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Trombay from 1996 to 2000. He was awarded the Padma Vibhushan, India's second highest civilian honour, on 26 January 2009.
Jairam Ramesh is an Indian politician belonging to Indian National Congress. He is a Member of Parliament representing Karnataka state in the Rajya Sabha. In July 2011, Jairam was elevated to the Union Council of Ministers of India and appointed Minister of Rural Development and Minister of the new Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation. The Ministry of Railways is a ministry in the Government of India, responsible for the country's rail transport. The ministry operates the statutory body Indian Railways, an organisation that operates as a monopoly in rail transport and is headed by the Chairman and CEO of Railway Board. The Ministry of Railways along with the Railway Board is housed inside Rail Bhawan in New Delhi.

Vivek Lall is an American scientist who has been Chief Executive of General Atomics since June 1, 2020. Before joining General Atomics, Dr Lall worked at Lockheed Martin, and held key positions with Boeing and Reliance. Lall previously worked at General Atomics from August 2014 to December 2017. He has also worked as CEO and President of Reliance New Ventures Reliance Industries Limited. Lall was heading the Boeing operations in India from 2007 through April 2011. Lall previously worked for the US-based global defense and nuclear giant General Atomics as the global Chief Executive for International Commercial Strategic Development for General Atomics.
Amitabh Rajan is an Indian Administrative Service officer of Maharashtra cadre and the former Home Secretary and Additional Chief Secretary of Maharashtra. He currently heads the Reserve Bank of India Services Board as its Chairman, and is also an Independent Director in the Board of the State Trading Corporation of India.
M.A. Pathan was the chairman of Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. from February 1997 to March 2002. Syamal Bhushan Ghosh Dastidar is an ex-Indian Civil Servant, former Member Traffic of the Railway Board and Ex-Officio Secretary to the Government of India. In 2009, he was awarded the Padma Shri, India's fourth highest civilian award in the civil service category. He was the only one who is felicitated with this honor in 2009 in the Civil Service category.
