Vladimiros Tziortzis (born 6 April 1997) is a Cypriot professional racing driver who currently competes in the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series, driving the No. 1 EuroNASCAR FJ 2020 for Academy Motorsport in the EuroNASCAR pro class. He previously competed in Formula Renault Eurocup and SMP F4 Championship before making the switch to stock car racing in 2020.
At the age of five, Tziortzis took his first driving lessons from his father in the parking lot of GSP Stadium. He began his career on karting a few months later and won the Pancyprian Karting Championship in different classes for 7 consecutive years. He also represented Cyprus in the International ROK Cup Finals for three years, scoring a best result of 13th in 2008. [1]
After receiving an opportunity to test a Formula Renault 2.0 and Euroformula Open Championship car in 2014, Tziortzis made his racing career debut in the Formula Masters Russia championship in 2015 before he moved to SMP F4 Championship on the following year. [2] [3] He finished his first season in thirteenth place, scoring a best finishing result of two sixth places in Moscow. Tziortzis continued to race in SMP F4 for the following season and went on to finish 10th in the standings with a best result of two third-place finishes and one second-place finish, all of which were achieved in the second round at Moscow. [4]
In 2018, Tziortzis made the move to Formula Renault Eurocup after he was signed by Fortec Motorsports. [5] [6] In 2019, he took part in the official Formula Renault Eurocup post-season tests at Yas Marina and Paul Ricard, driving for JD Motorsport. [7]
Tziortzis made the switch to stock car racing in 2020 after he was signed by NASCAR Whelen Euro Series team Alex Caffi Motorsport to drive the No. 1 Ford Mustang the EuroNASCAR 2 class, becoming the first Cypriot driver to compete in NASCAR. [8] Tziortzis impressed in his debut season, scoring 2 podiums and 8 top-10 finishes with a best finish of second in the third race at Valencia. He finished the year fourth in the standings with 365 points, 54 points behind champion Vittorio Ghirelli. [9] His success allowed Alex Caffi Motorsport, which undergo a rebrand to Academy Motorsport in the off-season, to resign Tziortzis for 2021. [10] Tziortzis scored five podium finishes on his way to finish sixth in the standings that year. He also scored a pole position in the NASCAR GP Belgium at Circuit Zolder, his maiden pole result in the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series. [11]
For the 2022 season, Tziortzis renewed his contract with Academy Motorsport as he was transferred from the No. 1 car to the team's No. 5 car, acting as the teammate for Patrick Lemarié. [12] Tziortzis finished third in the overall standings, having won the season opening race at Valencia and scored a total of seven podium finishes.
On 14 December 2022, it was announced that Tziortzis will be moving up to the EuroNASCAR PRO division for the 2023 season. Tziortzis will continue to drive Academy Motorsport's No. 5 car for his debut season in EuroNASCAR PRO. [13]

Alessandro Giuseppe "Alex" Caffi is an Italian racing driver, former Formula One driver, and team owner. He participated in 75 Grands Prix, debuting on 7 September 1986. In 2006 he raced in the inaugural season of the Grand Prix Masters formula for retired Formula One drivers. He currently serves as the team owner of NASCAR Whelen Euro Series team Academy Motorsport and had acted as an owner-driver during the team's previous guise as Alex Caffi Motorsport.
Patrick Lemarié is a French auto racing driver born February 6, 1968, in Paris. He currently competes in the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series, driving the No. 5 car for Academy Motorsport in the EuroNASCAR PRO class having previously competed for FEED Vict Racing and DF1 Racing. The son of Jean Pierre Lemarié (1941–2016), he spent four years performing testing work for the British American Racing Formula One team but was never considered for a race seat due to his lack of experience. Lemarié's manager, Craig Pollock, hired him to drive for the new PK Racing Champ Car team in 2003. He scored two tenth-place finishes in the first two events but was replaced after six races for Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca expert Bryan Herta. Lemarié has also competed in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, American Le Mans series, Indy Lights, Toyota Atlantic and Formula 3000.
Alon Day is an Israeli professional stock car racing driver. He competes part-time in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, driving the No. 45 Chevrolet Camaro for Alpha Prime Racing. Day is the first Israeli driver to compete in an IndyCar-sanctioned series, and is also the first Israeli to compete in one of NASCAR's top three touring series.
MP Motorsport is a Dutch auto racing team currently competing in the FIA Formula 2 Championship, FIA Formula 3 Championship, Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine, Eurocup-3, Spanish Formula 4 Championship and the newly established F1 Academy in 2023. The 2018 Formula Renault Eurocup is a multi-event motor racing championship for open wheel, formula racing cars held across Europe. The championship features drivers competing in 2 litre Formula Renault single seat race cars that conform to the technical regulations for the championship. The 2018 season is the 28th Formula Renault Eurocup season organized by the Renault Sport and the third season as the main category of the World Series by Renault. The series will visit ten circuits around the Europe, including Monaco.
Lucas Lasserre is a French racing driver who competes in the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series. He is currently driving the No. 64 Ford Mustang as the owner-driver of SpeedHouse.
The 2019 NASCAR Whelen Euro Series is the eleventh Racecar Euro Series season, and the seventh under the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series branding. Alon Day and Ulysse Delsaux entered the season as the defending champion in the Elite 1 and Elite 2 category respectively, however Delsaux will not defend his title as he will move up to Elite 1 for the 2019 season.
Kenko Miura is a Japanese racing driver who currently competes part-time in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, driving the No. 53 Toyota Supra for Joey Gase Motorsports. Miura has also previously competed in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, Asian Formula 3 Series and the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series. Miura has competed in a total of 22 Euro Elite 1 races since 2017 and in 17 Euro Elite 2 races between 2017 and 2018. He won the 2018 Challenger's Trophy over Dario Caso.
Frédéric Gabillon is a French professional racing driver that currently competes in the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series, driving the No. 3 Chevrolet SS for RDV Competition in the EuroNASCAR PRO class. He is a three-time runner-up in the Euro Series, having finished second in the championship in 2013, 2016, and 2018.
Ulysse Delsaux is a French professional racing driver who currently competes in the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series, driving the No. 14 Ford Mustang for SpeedHouse Racing in the EuroNASCAR PRO class. He is a one-time champion in the Euro Series, having won the EuroNASCAR 2 championship in 2018.
The 2020 NASCAR Whelen Euro Series is the twelfth Racecar Euro Series season, and the eighth under the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series branding.
