WISU is licensed by the U.S. Federal Communications Commission as a Class B FM station, which would allow a maximum power of 46,000 watts effective radiated power (ERP), using an antenna height of 156 meters.
Michigan Public is a network of five FM public radio stations operated by the University of Michigan through its broadcasting arm, Michigan Public Media. The network is a founding member of National Public Radio and an affiliate of Public Radio International, American Public Media, and BBC World Service. Its main studio is located in Ann Arbor, with satellite studios in Flint and offices in Grand Rapids. It currently airs news and talk, which it has since July 1, 1996. The combined footprint of the five stations covers most of the southern Lower Peninsula of Michigan, from Muskegon to Detroit. KQPW-LP was a non-commercial low-power FM Christian radio station licensed to West Quincy, Missouri, United States, broadcasting with 100 watts of effective radiated power on 102.5 MHz. The station licensee, School of Christ, a small private Christian school in Quincy, Illinois, was granted a construction permit from the Federal Communications Commission on November 26, 2001, with the stated purpose "to further the Gospel of Christ to our students and the surrounding area" and "to instruct those students and other interested area youth in the field of radio electronics and production". The station went on the air and applied for a license to cover in August 2002, and the FCC granted this license in September. The station used the slogan "Quincy's True Power Station". KQPW-LP is no longer broadcasting as the FCC canceled its license on June 21, 2006.
