Contents

WPIW runs several sporting events, including Mount Vernon High School football, basketball, and baseball. It also carries Purdue University football and basketball, along with selected NASCAR and IndyCar races. WRCY began broadcasting in 1955. [2]

On December 19, 2016, WRCY changed its format from country to sports, with programming from Fox Sports Radio. [3]

On July 25, 2022, WRCY changed its format from sports to classic country, branded as "98.9 WPIW". [4] The station changed its call letters to WPIW on September 12, 2022.
