The WWE Crown Jewel Championship is a men's ceremonial professional wrestling championship created and promoted by the American promotion WWE. Introduced on October 5, 2024, it is awarded annually at each Crown Jewel professional wrestling event as the result of a match between the reigning world champions of Raw and SmackDown. The award is represented by a championship belt, but the winner is presented with the Crown Jewel ring, similar to a Super Bowl ring, as the belt stays on display at the WWE Experience attraction in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The inaugural winner was SmackDown's Cody Rhodes, who defeated Raw's Gunther at the 2024 Crown Jewel.
The women's version of this championship is the WWE Women's Crown Jewel Championship.
At Bad Blood on October 5, 2024, WWE Chief Content Officer Paul "Triple H" Levesque unveiled the new WWE Crown Jewel Championship, which will be contested at each Crown Jewel event, and announced that the inaugural champion would be determined at Crown Jewel on November 2, 2024, after World Heavyweight Champion Gunther faced Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes. Every year, the world champions of both the Raw and SmackDown brands will compete in a match for the Crown Jewel Championship. However, neither the World Heavyweight or Undisputed WWE Championships are defended during the match, meaning the winner of the match will not walk away with the other titleholder's championship. [2]
