The NXT Breakout Tournament is a professional wrestling single elimination tournament produced by WWE for the NXT brand. First introduced in 2019, the tournament features eight wrestlers, who are new arrivals on NXT (usually WWE Performance Center recruits making their NXT television debuts). The winner receives a championship match of their choice which they can cash in anytime. [1]

In 2019, WWE introduced a new tournament called the NXT Breakout Tournament, featuring eight male wrestlers of the WWE Performance Center, who would be making their NXT television debuts. [2] The tournament was held through various television tapings of the weekly NXT show in June and the final occurred in August, which Jordan Myles won by defeating Cameron Grimes. [3]

After a one-year hiatus in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Breakout Tournament returned for a second edition in 2021, introducing eight new wrestlers from the Performance Center. [7] Two qualifiers were held on the July 2 episode of 205 Live , which Andre Chase and Joe Gacy won by defeating Guru Raaj and Desmond Troy respectively. [8] The Breakout Tournament began on the July 13 episode of NXT. [9] The tournament final occurred on the August 24 episode of NXT. Carmelo Hayes won the 2021 tournament by defeating Odyssey Jones in the final. [10]

In 2022, the tournament featured eight female wrestlers from NXT for the first time, with the winner earning a NXT Women's Championship opportunity any time. The 2022 edition began on the May 10, 2022 episode of NXT 2.0 . [11] Roxanne Perez defeated Tiffany Stratton in the final on the June 7 episode of NXT 2.0 . [12]

† Nikkita Lyons was injured during training and her semi-final opponent. Fallon Henley, originally got a bye to the finals but, Tiffany Stratton challenged Henley to earn her spot in the finals in which Stratton then replaced Lyons in the tournament.
The fourth edition of the Breakout Tournament was held in 2023, beginning on the October 3 episode of NXT. [17] [18] The semifinals of the tournament were held at the Halloween Havoc night one on October 24 and the final was held at Halloween Havoc night two on October 31. [19] [20] Lola Vice defeated Kelani Jordan in the final to win the 2023 tournament. [21]

The NXT Women's Championship is a women's professional wrestling championship created and promoted by the American promotion WWE. It is defended on NXT, the promotion's developmental brand. The current champion is Roxanne Perez, who is in her record-tying second reign. She won the title by defeating Lyra Valkyria at Stand & Deliver on April 6, 2024.
The Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic is an annual professional wrestling tag team tournament held by the American promotion WWE, and is featured on its NXT brand, having first been established in 2015. In subsequent years, wrestlers from the NXT UK and 205 Live brands—both of which were subsidiary/sister brands under the NXT banner—have also been included. While originally just for men, a women's version of the tournament was introduced in 2021 and runs concurrently with the men's tournament.

The NXT Heritage Cup is a men's professional wrestling championship created and promoted by the American promotion WWE. It is a specialized championship for NXT, the promotion's developmental brand. The title is defended just like any other championship but has a special stipulation in which all matches are contested under British Rounds Rules. The current champion is Charlie Dempsey, who is in his second reign. He won the title by defeating previous champion Tony D'Angelo by 2–1 on the August 13, 2024, episode of NXT.
Samantha De Martin, better known by the ring name Indi Hartwell, is an Australian professional wrestler. She is known for her career in WWE from 2019 to 2024, where she was a one-time NXT Women's Champion and one-time NXT Women's Tag Team Champion with Candice LeRae. She was a member of The Way stable. Before signing with WWE, De Martin wrestled in her native Australia for promotions such as Riot City Wrestling and World Series Wrestling. She was a one-time RCW Women's Champion and one-time WSW Women's Champion.
Christian Brigham is an American professional wrestler. He is signed to WWE, where he performs on the SmackDown brand, under the ring name Carmelo Hayes. He is a former one-time NXT Champion, a two-time and longest combined reigning NXT North American Champion, and a one-time and the final NXT Cruiserweight Champion, having unified it with the NXT North American Championship.
The NXT Women's Tag Team Championship was a professional wrestling women's tag team championship created and promoted by the American promotion WWE. It was defended on the company's developmental brand, NXT, and was briefly featured on the main roster brand, SmackDown, before its retirement. The championship was established on March 10, 2021, and the team of Dakota Kai and Raquel González were the inaugural champions. On the June 23, 2023, episode of SmackDown, the title was unified into the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship, officially retiring the title in the process, with Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn recognized as the final champions.

The 2023 NXT:Halloween Havoc was a two-part professional wrestling television special produced by WWE. It was the fourth annual Halloween Havoc held for the promotion's developmental brand NXT, and the 16th Halloween Havoc event overall. The two-night event took place on October 24 and 31, 2023, at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida and aired as special episodes of NXT on the USA Network. SmackDown wrestlers Shotzi and Scarlett served as the hosts of the event, marking Shotzi's third time hosting the show, after 2020 and 2022.
