The Wake Forest Demon Deacons track and field team is the track and field program that represents Wake Forest University. The Demon Deacons compete in NCAA Division I as a member of the Atlantic Coast Conference. The team is based in Winston-Salem, North Carolina at the Kentner Stadium. [2]
The program is coached by John Hayes. [3] The track and field program officially encompasses four teams because the NCAA considers men's and women's indoor track and field and outdoor track and field as separate sports. [4]
Andy Bloom is the only multiple-time NCAA champion for Wake Forest, in both the shot put and discus throw at the 1996 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships. [5]
As of 2024 [update] , a total of 10 men and 13 women have achieved individual first-team All-American status at the Division I men's outdoor, women's outdoor, men's indoor, or women's indoor national championships (using the modern criteria of top-8 placing regardless of athlete nationality).
