Wardour Street is the upcoming studio album by English rock band The Quireboys. It is scheduled to be released on 13 September 2024 through Cadiz Music. The album is named after Wardour Street, a prominent street in London's Soho district known for its music venues and historic significance to the UK rock scene.
Wardour Street is the first Quireboys album after the band splintered in early 2022. Frontman Spike was fired from the band, leaving Guy Griffin as lead vocalist. [1] [2] In May 2022, Spike announced his reunion with former Quireboys members Guy Bailey and Nigel Mogg. [3] [4]
On 9 December 2022, newly formed group released a two-track single, "Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year", in support of Care After Combat, a charity for British combat veterans. [5] The album's lead single, "Jeeze Louise", was released on 31 October 2023. [6] The release of Wardour Street was originally announced for spring, coinciding with a UK tour in May 2024, with guitarist Luke Morley from Thunder performing in place of Guy Bailey, who had died in April 2023. [7] The release date was later pushed back to 13 September. [8]
The Wildhearts are an English rock band, formed in 1989 in Newcastle upon Tyne. The band's sound is a mixture of hard rock and melodic pop music, often described in the music press as combining influences as diverse as the Beatles and 1980s-era Metallica. The Wildhearts achieved several top 20 singles and two top 10 albums in Britain, though they also faced difficulties with record companies and many internal problems often relating to drugs and depression. Much of the band's early career was affected by bitter feuds with their record company, East West.
Thunder are an English hard rock band from London. Formed in 1989, the group was founded by former Terraplane members Danny Bowes, Luke Morley and Gary "Harry" James (drums), along with second guitarist and keyboardist Ben Matthews and bassist Mark "Snake" Luckhurst. Originally signed to EMI Records in the UK, the band released their debut album Backstreet Symphony in 1990, which reached number 21 on the UK Albums Chart and number 114 on the US Billboard 200. The 1992 follow-up Laughing on Judgement Day reached number 2, while both albums were certified gold by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI). All nine singles released from the two albums reached the UK Singles Chart top 40.
Luke Morley is the guitarist, chief songwriter and producer for the hard rock band Thunder from 1989 to present. Previous to that he was a member of 1980s group, Terraplane who subsequently became Thunder.
The Quireboys are an English rock band formed in 1984 in London, with strong ties to Newcastle. Originally known as The Queerboys, billed as The London Quireboys in the United States and Canada, settling at last with their current name.

David Colwell is a British rock guitarist who has been a member of Bad Company, Samson, ASAP, The Eastenders, The Entire Population of Hackney, 720, The Torpedoes, Angel Street, Roger Chapman's Shortlist, The Jones Gang, FM, Frankie Miller's Fullhouse and Rock Steady. He started a supergroup called Rock Steady which, among others, includes bass guitarist Rick Wills, best known for his work with Foreigner and his associations with Small Faces, Peter Frampton and Bad Company and did a New Zealand tour with this band. In November 2018 he joined again Humble Pie for their US tour. Dave Colwell has his own band now which is called Bucket's Rebel Heart. Their debut album "20 Good Summers" was released in December 2018 on Pride& Joy records and January 2019 in Japan on Marquee records.
