Kent County Cricket Club is one of the eighteen first-class county clubs within the domestic cricket structure of England and Wales. It represents the historic county of Kent. A club representing the county was first founded in 1842 but Kent teams have played top-class cricket since the early 18th century,and the club has always held first-class status. The current Kent County Cricket Club was formed on 6 December 1870 following the merger of two representative teams. Kent have competed in the County Championship since the official start of the competition in 1890 and have played in every top-level domestic cricket competition in England. The club's limited overs team is called the Kent Spitfires after the Supermarine Spitfire.
James Cullum Tredwell is an English former international cricketer. A left-handed batsman and a right-arm off break bowler,he played his domestic cricket for Kent County Cricket Club and was appointed as County Captain for the 2013 season. He made his debut for Kent in the 2001 season,nine days before his first appearance for England Under-19s. He often fielded at slip. Tredwell was a member of the England team that won the 2010 ICC World Twenty20.

Sam Alexander Northeast is an English professional cricketer who plays for Glamorgan County Cricket Club. He is a right-handed batsman. Northeast made his senior debut in 2007 and until 2017 played for Kent County Cricket Club. He captained the Kent First XI for most of the 2015 season before being formally appointed as club captain in 2016. He captained the side in 2017 before being replaced before the 2018 season after declining to sign a contract extension committing himself to the club in the longer term.
Arundel Castle Cricket Ground is a cricket ground in Arundel,West Sussex,England,nearby to Arundel Castle. It has been in use since 1952. Akram continued playing amateur cricket as captain of Wanstead and Snaresbrook CC,alongside his twin brother Adnan;he also played for the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) between 2006 and 2018.
Matthew Thomas Coles is an English former professional cricketer. He played as a bowling all-rounder who bowled right-arm fast-medium pace and batted left-handed. He most recently was contracted to Essex County Cricket Club and has represented the England Lions cricket team. Coles played for Kent for two spells either side of spending 18 months at Hampshire in 2014. In 2016 he joined Bangladesh Premier League side Dhaka Dynamites for part of their season.
Edmund John Holden Eckersley,is an English cricketer. He is a right-handed batsman and wicket-keeper. He was a core player of Leicestershire from 2011 to 2018. After his release from Leicestershire he signed for Durham
Calum John Haggett is an English first-class cricketer who played for Kent County Cricket Club. An all-rounder,he bowls right-arm medium pace,and bats left-handed. He made his debut for Somerset in the 2010–11 Caribbean Twenty20 and played three T20 matches but these were the only appearances he made for Somerset. Having previously represented England U19s in their 2009 tour to Bangladesh,Haggett signed for Kent ahead of the 2013 English domestic season.

Kent also hosted a Twenty20 match at the St Lawrence Ground against the touring Indians,and a three-day first-class MCC Universities match against Loughborough MCCU,also at the St Lawrence Ground. It was the second and final season in charge for Director of Cricket Paul Farbrace. The club captain was former England batsman Rob Key who had been club captain since 2006. Pakistan fast bowler Wahab Riaz joined Kent as their overseas player in June,and another fast bowler,South African Charl Langeveldt,signed as Kent's second overseas player for the Friends Life t20 competition only.

The club captain was former England batsman Rob Key who had been club captain since 2006. Kent's overseas players were South African fast bowler Makhaya Ntini until late May,and Sri Lankan leg-spinner Malinga Bandara for the rest of the season.
