Washington Correctional Facility is a medium-security correctional facility that is located in Comstock, a hamlet in the Town of Fort Ann in Washington County, New York. It is designated for confinement of males age 18 and older. The facility offers volunteer and counseling services, and educational and vocational programs. [1] As of 2010 Washington had a working capacity of 882. [2]

As of February 27, 2009, this facility was housing Michael Alig, convicted of the manslaughter of Angel Melendez on October 24, 1997.

The Attica Correctional Facility is a maximum security/supermax New York State prison in the town of Attica, New York, operated by the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision. After it was constructed in the 1930s, it held many of the most dangerous criminals of the time. A CS gas system installed in the mess hall and industry areas has been used to quell conflicts in these areas. The prison now holds many inmates who are serving various types of sentences, and who are usually sent to the facility because of disciplinary problems in other facilities.

Marcy Correctional Facility is a medium security state prison for males in Marcy, Oneida County, New York. To some extent Marcy specializes in providing alcohol and drug treatment programs. All of Marcy is on one level; there are no stairs, making it especially suitable for disabled prisoners. It also has a higher-than-average number of vocational programs.

Mid-State Correctional Facility is located in the Town of Marcy, between the cities of Rome and Utica in New York State. From about 1912 through 1982 the state ran a state aslyum on these grounds.
