The 1982 Men's World Water Polo Championship was the fourth edition of the men's water polo tournament at the World Aquatics Championships, organised by the world governing body in aquatics, the FINA. The tournament was held from 29 July to 8 August 1982, and was incorporated into the 1982 World Aquatics Championships in Guayaquil, Ecuador. [1]

Water polo at the World Aquatics Championships is an international water polo tournament held every two years as part of the World Aquatics Championships. The reigning champions are Croatia in men's and the United States in women's competition.
The water polo tournament at the 1984 Summer Olympics was held from 1 to 10 August 1984, at the Raleigh Runnels Memorial Pool in Malibu, California. The tournament featured 12 teams, playing two rounds of round-robin play: preliminaries and finals.
