FINA is the international federation recognised by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) for administering international competitions in water sports. It is one of several international federations which administer a given sport or discipline for both the IOC and the international community. It is based in Lausanne, Switzerland.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">FINA World Aquatics Championships</span>

The FINA World Championships or World Aquatics Championships are the World Championships for aquatics sports: swimming, diving, high diving, open water swimming, artistic swimming, and water polo. They are run by FINA, and all swimming events are contested in a long course (50-metre) pool.

The 2009 World Aquatics Championships or the XIII FINA World Championships were held in Rome, Italy from 18 July to 2 August 2009. The 2009 Championships featured competition in all 5 aquatics disciplines: diving, swimming, open water swimming, synchronised swimming and water polo.

The Synchronised swimming competition at the 2013 World Aquatics Championships was held from July 20 to July 27 at the Palau Sant Jordi, Barcelona, Spain.

2019 World Aquatics Championships 18th edition of the World Aquatics Championships

The 2019 World Aquatics Championships were the 18th FINA World Aquatics Championships, held in Gwangju, South Korea from 12 to 28 July 2019. The city had previously hosted the 2015 Summer Universiade aquatics events in the same venues.

The 2023 World Aquatics Championships, the 20th edition of the FINA World Aquatics Championships, will be held in Fukuoka, Japan, between 14 to 30 July 2023. Originally scheduled to be held in 2021, the championships were pushed back one year to be held from 13-29 May 2022 in response to the rescheduling of the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo to 2021, as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. The event was then postponed a second time to year 2023 due to the COVID-19 pandemic situation like travel restrictions and the measures currently in place in Japan. In its place, Budapest hosted the 19th Championships from 18 June - 3 July 2022.

Ryan Held American swimmer

Ryan Held is an American freestyle swimmer who specializes in the sprint events, and is currently sponsored by Arena. He holds the U.S. Open record in the long course 100 meter freestyle and three world records in short course relay events. At the 2016 Summer Olympics he won a gold medal in the 4×100 meter freestyle relay, swimming in both the prelims and the final of the event. In 2021, he won silver medals in the 50 meter freestyle and the 100 meter freestyle at the 2021 World Short Course Championships. At his first FINA World Aquatics Championships, the 2022 World Aquatics Championships, he won a gold medal in the 4×100 meter freestyle relay.

Danube Arena

The Danube Arena is an aquatics complex located in Budapest, Hungary. It was designed by Marcell Ferenc and built between 2015 and 2017.

The 6th FINA World Junior Swimming Championships, was held in Indianapolis, United States. The championships were for girls aged 14–17 and boys age 15–18. Nearly 1,000 athletes from 100 different countries competed at this event.

The Men's 4 × 200 metre freestyle relay competition of the 2016 FINA World Swimming Championships was held on 9 December 2016.

The 16th FINA World Swimming Championships are scheduled to take place from 13 to 18 December 2022 in Melbourne, Australia at the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre. Swimming events in the championships will be conducted in a 25-metre pool.

The 8th FINA World Junior Swimming Championships will take place from 30 August to 4 September 2022 at the Videna Aquatic Center in Lima, Peru. It is open to competition for girls ages 14 to 17 years old and boys ages 15 to 18 years old at the end of the 2022 calendar year. All events are to be conducted in a 50-metre pool.

The 2022 World Aquatics Championships, the 19th edition of the FINA World Aquatics Championships, were held in Budapest, Hungary, from 17 June to 3 July 2022.

Swimming at the 2022 World Aquatics Championships took place from 18 to 25 June 2022. The United States won the most gold medals (17) and overall medal count (45) in this discipline. Katie Ledecky of the United States and Léon Marchand of France earned FINA Swimmer of the Meet honors based on a scoring system that awards points for top-four finishes.

Open water swimming at the 2022 World Aquatics Championships was held from 26 to 30 June 2022.

Diving at the 2022 World Aquatics Championships was held from 26 June to 3 July 2022.

Water polo at the 2022 World Aquatics Championships was held between 20 June and 3 July 2022.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Canada at the 2022 World Aquatics Championships</span> Sporting event delegation

Canada is scheduled to compete at the 2022 World Aquatics Championships in Budapest, Hungary from June 18th to July 3rd, 2022. Canadian athletes competed in all five disciplines held at the championships. Canada's team consisted of 76 athletes.

Italy at the 2022 World Aquatics Championships Sporting event delegation

Italy competed at the 2022 World Aquatics Championships in Budapest, Hungary from 18 June to 3 July. Having clinched the final in men's water polo, for the first time it has won at least one medal in every discipline.

The 2022 Australian Swimming Championships were held from 18 to 22 May 2022 at the South Australia Aquatic and Leisure Centre in Adelaide, South Australia.
