The 2022 World Draughts Championship match was held from January 5 to January 20, 2022, at High Tech Campus Eindhoven, in the Netherlands. [1] It was held under the auspices of the International Draughts Federation (FMJD) and played between the reigning 2021 world champion Alexander Schwartzman and 2018 world champion Roel Boomstra. [1]

Rules and regulations

The event was played over 12 games with a time control of 80 minutes plus 1 minute per move. The player who had the highest score won the world title if he won at least three games. If not, the match continued until one of the players reached a third victory in total, with 3 rapid games 20 minutes plus 10 seconds Fischer system, 3 blitz games with a time schedule of 10 minutes and 5 seconds Fischer system, and a Superblitz (limited time for unlimited number of games till 1st victory) tie breaks with a time schedule of 10 minutes and 2 seconds per move Fischer system.

Per regulations, a preliminary tie-breaking games were to be played if the first six games ended in a draw. [3]

The Women's World Chess Championship 2013 was a chess match for the championship. The match was scheduled over ten games from 10 to 27 September 2013 in Taizhou, Jiangsu, China.

The Draughts World Championship is the world championship in international draughts and is held every two years. In the even year following the tournament, the World Title match takes place. The men's championship began in 1885 in France and since 1948 it's organised by the World Draughts Federation (FMJD). The men's championship has had winners from the Netherlands, Canada, the Soviet Union, Senegal, Latvia, and Russia.

Sixteen female players in total will be competing in the tournament. The tournament started on May 11, 2015, and will end on May 24, 2015. It will be played as a round-robin, with 15 rounds in total, each of which be micro-match from two games. The winning prize for the tournament is 20,000 euros.

The 2015 World Draughts Championship at the international draughts was held November 8–24, 2015 at Emmen, Netherlands International Draughts Federation FMJD. Twenty players were competing in the tournament. It was played as a round-robin, with 19 rounds in total, each of which be micro-match from two games. The winning prize for the tournament was 25,000 euros.

The 2015 Women's World Draughts Championship match at the international draughts was held April 1–8, 2015 in Zerendi, Kazakhstan International Draughts Federation FMJD between the actual World Champion Zoja Golubeva (Latvia) and the challenger Tamara Tansykkuzhina (Russia). Zoya Golubeva won with a score of 8 : 4 and became the world champion for the fifteenth time.

2013 World Draughts Championship International draughts tournament

The 2013 World Draughts Championship was an international draughts tournament held in Ufa, Russia. 40 players from 24 countries who qualified through the championships of Europe, Asia, Africa, North and South America competed in the tournament, which began on June 2, 2013 and ended on June 20, 2013. Among them was women's Draughts World Champion Zoja Golubeva from Latvia.

Roel Boomstra Dutch draughts player

Roel Boomstra is a Dutch draughts player and current world champion. He won the Draughts World Championship match in 2016 and 2018. In 2014 Boomstra won the Draughts European Championship. He also won the Dutch championship twice. Boomstra holds the title of International Grandmaster. He was born in Utrecht.

The 2016 World Draughts Championship match at the international draughts was held from December 3–18 in the Netherlands under auspice International Draughts Federation FMJD. The match was scheduled to take place between Jan Groenendijk and Roel Boomstra, who were second and third at last Draughts Championship. World Champion Alexander Georgiev (Russia) has informed FMJD that he will not defend his title. FMJD decided that the next player in the classifications of last WC, Roel Boomstra, should play the Match for World Title against the Vice Champion, Jan Groenendijk.

The 2017 World Draughts Championship at the international draughts was held between 6–10 May 2017, in Izmir, Turkey, by International Draughts Federation (FMJD).

2017 Womens World Draughts Championship

The 2017 Women's World Draughts Championship at the international draughts held in Tallinn, Estonia International Draughts Federation FMJD. Sixteen female players in total was competing in the tournament. The tournament started on October 1, 2017, and lasted on October 15, 2017. Three round played in hotel Europe, other – at Paul Keres Chess House. It played as a round-robin, with 15 rounds in total. The winning prize for the tournament is 20,000 euros. At the same time the 2017 World Draughts Championship was held.

2018 Womens World Draughts Championship match

The 2018 Women's World Draughts Championship match at the international draughts was held 19–30 November 2018 in Riga (Latvia) International Draughts Federation FMJD between world champion 2017 Zoja Golubeva (Latvia) and world champion 2016 Natalia Sadowska (Poland). Natalia Sadowska won second title. Prize money 17 000€. If score will be 54:54 both players will receive equally.

The 2018 World Draughts Championship match in international draughts was held from December 28, 2018, to January 13, 2019, in the Netherlands. It was held under the auspices of the International Draughts Federation (FMJD) and played between the current 2017 world champion Alexander Schwartzman and 2016 world champion Roel Boomstra. Roel Boomstra won this match and became World Draughts Champion.

FIDE World Fischer Random Chess Championship 2019 2019 world championship of a variation of chess

The FIDE World Fischer Random Chess Championship 2019 was the first world championship in Fischer Random Chess officially recognized by the international chess federation FIDE. Previous unofficial championships had been held, with the most recent winner being Magnus Carlsen in 2018. The competition started on April 28, 2019, with the first qualifying tournaments, which took place online and were open to all interested participants; and continued with further rounds up to the quarter-finals, which were also online. The semi-finals and final were played over the board between October 27 to November 2, 2019, in the Henie Onstad Kunstsenter in Bærum in Norway. The winner of the final was Wesley So, defeating Magnus Carlsen 13.5–2.5, to become the first FIDE world champion in Fischer Random Chess. Over the course of the competition, various time controls were applied, with longer games being weighted more heavily.

The 2021 Women's World Draughts Championship match at the international draughts was held 23 April – 3 May 2021 in Warsaw (Poland) International Draughts Federation FMJD between world champion 2019 Tamara Tansykkuzhina from (Russia) and world champion 2018 Natalia Sadowska (Poland).Tamara Tansykkuzhina won seventh title. Prize money 20 000€.

2021 World Draughts Championship

The 2021 World Draughts Championship at the international draughts took place from June 28 to July 14, 2021 in Tallinn, Estonia under the auspices International Draughts Federation (FMJD). Forty players competed in the tournament, which was played in a COVID bubble at Hotel Viru. In the semi-final all players were divided into four groups. The best three players from each semi-final group went to the final. The championship was played in a round-robin system. The main referee was IR Frank Teer (Netherlands). The winning prize for the tournament was 20,000 euros.

2021 Womens World Draughts Championship

The 2021 Women's World Draughts Championship at the international draughts took place from June 28 to July 14, 2021, in Tallinn, Estonia, under the auspices International Draughts Federation FMJD. 16 players from 9 countries competing in the tournament, which played in COVID bubble Hotel Viru. Championship played round-robin. Main referee IR Frank Teer. The winning prize for the tournament 20,000 euros.

The FIDE Grand Prix 2022 is a series of three chess tournaments, to be played between 3 February and 4 April 2022 in Berlin, Germany and Belgrade, Serbia. The top two finishers qualify for the Candidates Tournament 2022, which is the final qualification stage for the World Chess Championship 2023.
