Christopher Troilo from Avault gave the game three stars out of five, stating that "If you require something with a little more depth and thought, I still think you should give it a try, but that’s probably all you’ll need to satisfy your curiosity". [4] Kieron Gillen from Eurogamer gave it a score of 7 out of 10, complimenting the graphic style as "hyperactive amateurish-yet-charming" and stating that it was "a run-and-gun that chooses to step back from the difficulty cliff and just show all the gleeful nonsense its managed to think up." Both reviewers compared the game to Contra . [1] Brad Gallaway of GameCritic's praised the game saying its "a clear love of the genre it builds upon". [5]

Amy Hennig is an American video game writer and director, formerly for the video game company Naughty Dog. She began her work in the industry on the Nintendo Entertainment System, with her design debut on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System game Michael Jordan: Chaos in the Windy City. She later went to work for Crystal Dynamics, working primarily on the Legacy of Kain series. With Naughty Dog, she worked primarily on the Jak and Daxter and Uncharted series, the latter of which she created.
Deus Ex is a series of cyberpunk role-playing video games, set during the mid 21st century. Dead State is a turn-based survival horror role-playing video game developed by DoubleBear Productions and Iron Tower Studio set in a zombie apocalypse scenario. Players are tasked with leading a group of survivors living in a shelter in the fictional town of Splendid, Texas. Dead State was released in December 2014 after having been in Early Access since spring of that year. DoubleBear Productions continued to work on the title and in May 2015 released an "enhanced edition" which changed the name to Dead State: Reanimated.

Serious Sam Double D is a 2011 side-scrolling shooter game developed by Mommy's Best Games and published by Devolver Digital. The game follows Sam "Serious" Stone traveling through various historical settings to destroy the horde of his nemesis, Mental, and its teleportation beacons. As Sam, the player navigates 2D levels and can use the "gun stacker" to create vertical stacks of up to six weapons that are fired simultaneously. Enemies appear from all sides and their corpses can be used as platforms.
