Weekend is an American lo-fi or shoegaze [1] trio from San Francisco, California. The band formed in 2009 [2] and released two EPs, with the full-length debut album Sports coming on Slumberland Records in 2010. [3] The album received an 8.2 rating from Pitchfork Media. [4] It also received 4/5 stars on Tinymixtapes [1] and was also reviewed by National Public Radio, [5] the Portland Mercury , [6] Boston Phoenix , [7] NME , [8] Drowned in Sound, [9] Brooklyn Vegan, [10] The Onion's AV Club, [11] and PopMatters. [12]

Contents

Sports was also mentioned in Sports Illustrated alongside the more commercially-successful album with the same name by Huey Lewis and the News. [13]

Their song "End Times" was used in a commercial to promote Season 6 of Dexter .

The band released their second album, Jinx, on July 23, 2013, on Slumberland Records. [14]

In late 2018, Weekend toured with Nothing and Thursday.

1,000 Years is the first album by The Corin Tucker Band, released on October 5, 2010, and the first album Tucker released since Sleater-Kinney went on "hiatus" in 2006. She recorded the album along with Seth Lorinczi and Julianna Bright of both Golden Bears and Circus Lupus, as well as Sara Lund of Hungry Ghost and Unwound. Lorinzci was also the album's producer.
