The men's featherweight event was part of the weightlifting programme at the 1936 Summer Olympics. The weight class was the lightest contested, and allowed weightlifters of up to 60 kilograms (132 pounds). The competition was held on Sunday, 2 August 1936. Anthony Terlazzo and Georg Liebsch both equalized the standing Olympic record in press with 92.5 kilograms. Anthony Terlazzo and Anton Richter both improved the Olympic record in snatch with 97.5 kilograms. Saleh Soliman and Ibrahim Shams both bettered the Olympic record in clean and jerk with 125 kilograms, and Anthony Terlazzo set a new Olympic record in total with 312.5 kilograms.

Tony Terlazzo American weightlifter

Anthony Terlazzo was an Italian-born American weightlifter. He was America's first weightlifter to win an Olympic gold medal, which he had done in 1936. He also won a bronze medal at the 1932 Games. Rodney Wilkes Trinidad and Tobago weightlifter

Rodney Adolphus Wilkes was a weightlifter from Trinidad and Tobago. Nicknamed "The Mighty Midget" he remained relatively unknown outside of local competition until he won the gold medal at the 1946 Central American and Caribbean Games in Barranquilla, Colombia. His performance included record lifts of 205 pounds (93 kg) in the press, 210 pounds (95 kg) in the snatch and 275 pounds (125 kg) in the clean and jerk.

Tuvalu at the 2012 Summer Olympics

Tuvalu competed at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, which was held from 27 July to 12 August 2012. The country's participation at London marked its second appearance in the Summer Olympics since its debut at the 2008 Summer Olympics. The delegation consisted of three competitors: two short-distance runners, Tavevele Noa and Asenate Manoa, and one weightlifter, Tuau Lapua Lapua. All three qualified for the games through wildcard places because they did not meet the qualification standards. Lapua was the flag bearer for the opening ceremony while Manoa carried it at the closing ceremony. Noa and Manoa failed to advance beyond the preliminary rounds of their events although the latter established a new national record for the women's 100 metres, while Lapua placed 12th in the men's featherweight weightlifting competition.

These are the results of the Men's Featherweight Weightlifting Event at the 1980 Olympic Weightlifting competition in Moscow. A total of 18 men competed in this event, limited to competitors with a maximum body weight of 60 kilograms.

The men's 60 kg weightlifting competitions at the 1948 Summer Olympics in London took place on 9 August at the Empress Hall of the Earls Court Exhibition Centre. The featherweight class, which had been the lightest from their introduction in the 1920 Summer Olympics until the 1936 Summer Olympics, was now the second-lightest, with a bantamweight (56 kg) class split off into a separate competition.
