Weldon Johnson Taylor was an American educator who served as the first Dean of the Marriott School of Management at Brigham Young University (BYU). He received a B.S. from BYU in 1934, a M.S. from Harvard University in 1937, and a Ph.D. in Marketing from New York University in 1952.

Taylor served as a statistician for the Federal Power Commission in Washington, D.C., and in his academic career, Taylor took a year’s sabbatical leave in 1963 to join the Ford Foundation to work with the National Institute of Management Development in Cairo, Egypt. [1] He also co-authored the widely used textbook Marketing: An Analytical Approach (1981). [2] Taylor served as the first dean of the Marriott School of Management from 1957 to 1974, helping to create the school's Department of Organizational behavior while there. [1]

Jonathan C. Coon is an American businessman who is the CEO and co-founder of 1-800 Contacts. He received his B.A. in Advertising and Public Relations in 1994 from Brigham Young University. While a student there, Coon created a small business selling contact lenses to other students. In 1995, his business model helped him win the 1995 Business Plan Competition hosted by BYU's Marriott School of Management, which awarded him capital to help grow his business into 1-800 Contacts. Coon is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

He was formerly the dean of the Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University. He has also served as associate dean at both the Marriott School of Management at Brigham Young University (BYU) and in the Ross School of Business.

The Skaggs Institute of Retail Management at the Brigham Young University Marriott School of Management was established in 1976 by means of a founding grant by American Stores and its founder, Sam Skaggs. William D. "Hank" Taylor is a United States Army major general who has served as the Deputy Director for Regional Operations and Force Management of the Joint Staff since June 2020. Previously, he served as the Senior Advisor to the Ministry of Defense of Afghanistan.
