The AllMusic review by Scott Yanow stated: "Missing are the longer drum solos of the earlier album; instead the focus is primarily on the two saxes... it will especially appeal to lovers of hard bop". [3]

Leroy Vinnegar was an American jazz bassist. Born in Indianapolis, Indiana, United States, the self-taught Vinnegar established his reputation in Los Angeles, California, during the 1950s and 1960s.
