History

On June 14, 2024, Willie Revillame confirmed that his new program, Wil To Win, would debut on TV5, marking his return to the network after eleven years since Wil Time Bigtime (formerly Willing Willie). [1] The show is produced by MQuest Ventures, which Revillame partnered with in April 2024. [2] A live television special, titled "WIL-come Back Party", was aired on Sunday, July 14, 2024, to celebrate the show's launch. [3] The special event was held at the New Frontier Theater. [4]

Regular programming commenced on July 15, 2024, every Mondays to Fridays from 17:00 to 18:30 (PST). [5] On July 29, 2024, the show extended its time slot from 16:30 to 18:30 (PST). [6] On September 16, 2024, the time slot reverted back to 17:00 (PST) after removing a segment. [7] In October 2024, several female hosts had been removed from the show. [8]

Originally hosted by Ogie Alcasid, Mark Bautista and Yassi Pressman, it aired first season aired every Sunday nights from February 6 to May 29, 2016, replacing LolaBasyang.com and the rerun of Cool Guys, Hot Ramen and was replaced by Movie Max 5. The show returned for second season aired every Saturday nights from January 23 to May 8, 2021, replacing the first season of Masked Singer Pilipinas and was replaced by the first season of Rolling In It Philippines. In the Philippines, variety television shows have become mainstays of the noontime slot for network programming since 1958. The first Philippines noontime variety television shows were influenced by the popularity of bodabil (vaudeville) in the first half of the 20th century. Since then, the format has evolved with the changing times, with elements of reality television also incorporated as well since the 2000s. Majority of the noontime variety shows that aired on television were produced independently by blocktimers that pay a certain amount of time to television networks to air their program. Some TV networks though have managed to solely produce these kind of programs, with moderate success in terms of ratings and advertising revenues.
