Eraserheads are a Filipino alternative rock band formed in 1989. With a line-up comprising Ely Buendia, Buddy Zabala, Marcus Adoro, and Raimund Marasigan, the band became the most influential and successful in the history of Filipino music. Often dubbed as "The Beatles of the Philippines", they have sold 9 million albums throughout their career and are credited for spearheading a second wave of Manila band invasions, paving the way for a host of Filipino alternative rock bands like Rivermaya.
Jerome Dillon is a professional musician, best known for his tenure as drummer with industrial rock group Nine Inch Nails from 1999–2005. After his departure, his own project, Nearly, released its debut album reminder in December 2005, along with a cd maxi-single for the song "Straight to Nowhere". "All is Lost", a song from reminder that Dillon co-wrote with 12 Rounds singer, Claudia Sarne, was featured in the 2008 film, Diary of a Nymphomaniac. In addition, an authorized limited release live bootleg EP/DVD entitled reminder Live 2006, was released in August 2006. Dillon has worked as a composer for feature films since 2001.

Beautiful Machines (2005) is the debut album of the Pinoy rock band, Pupil. It was released on November 10, 2005 under Sony BMG, the same music company that publishes the Eraserheads' music. The band itself describes their music as "dark, loud, and romantic." It is very guitar-driven, stripped down, and the album has a very distinct sound, considering that it is the band's debut album. The album was recorded digitally at Wombworks in Marikina. “We didn't use amps at all,” says frontman Ely Buendia. The band had its official Album Launch Party on January 31, 2006 at the Mugen Bar Metrowalk. The band also mentioned in an interview with Animax, that the album was greatly influenced by sci-fi.
Wolfgang is a Filipino rock band formed in January 1992 in Manila. The group is notable for being the only Filipino rock band to release albums in both Japan and the United States and for realizing Platinum record sales in their home country. After ten years, the original lineup split in 2002. Wolfgang reformed in 2007 with a new drummer.

FreeMan is the fifth album by Filipino rapper Francis Magalona, released in 1995 by BMG Records (Pilipinas) Inc, Musiko Records. It was Magalona's first outing with the BMG label, having left his previous label, OctoArts International Inc., in 1994. Its release firmly established Magalona's legitimacy in the Pinoy rock scene. Tracks like "Three Stars & A Sun", "Kabataan Para Sa Kinabukasan", "Suckin' on Helium/Kaleidoscope World" would become defining touch-points in Magalona's body of work. A track titled "Intellectual Property Rights" would sample a speech by then-president Fidel V. Ramos. Intellectual property rights was an issue that would continue to be an important and very personal advocacy for Magalona.
