Will Tuckett (born 1969) is an English director and choreographer, who has created works for many international companies including the Royal Ballet, The National Ballet of Canada, [1] and English National Ballet.
Tuckett was born in Birmingham in 1969. [2]
He trained at the Royal Ballet School. [2]
Tuckett won the 2014 Laurence Olivier Award for Best Entertainment for The Wind in the Willows. [3]
The Varna International Competition Award for Best Choreography for Nisi Dominus 2006.
His dance film NELA for Royal Ballet Principal Marianela Nunez directed by Andy Margetson won the Audience Choice Award SANS FESTIVAL OF DANCE CINEMA 2019 and the Overall Festival Award at the FLATLANDS DANCE FILM FESTIVAL 2019.
He was nominated for The Critics Circle Award for Best Choreography in 2003 for the ROH production of The Wind in the Willows and in 2007 for the English National Ballet production of The Canterville Ghost
His production Lazuli Sky for Birmingham Royal Ballet was nominated for the 2021 Critics Circle National Dance Award for Best Choreography and the South Bank Dance Award
His production Then or Now for Ballet Black was nominated for the 2022 UK Theatre Award for Outstanding Achievement in Dance and the South Bank Dance Award
Tuckett has choreographed for the Royal Ballet, the English National Ballet, the National Ballet of Canada, Ballet Black, National Ballet of China, K Ballet in Japan, Sarasota Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, Studio Company, Texas Ballet Theater in the United States, BalletBoyz, Rambert Dance Company. He created a series of works for new and family audiences at The Royal Opera House / ROH2, and was made the first Creative Associate for the Opera House in 2006.
He has worked as Creative Director on large scale commercial events for Van Cleef & Arpels / The Royal Opera House, creating events in such diverse locations as Tate Tanks, Buckingham Palace and Clarence House and created an immersive experience for The Royal Opera House front of house spaces.

Dame Ninette de Valois was an Irish-born British dancer, teacher, choreographer, and director of classical ballet. Most notably, she danced professionally with Serge Diaghilev's Ballets Russes, later establishing the Royal Ballet, one of the foremost ballet companies of the 20th century and one of the leading ballet companies in the world. She also established the Royal Ballet School and the touring company which became the Birmingham Royal Ballet. She is widely regarded as one of the most influential figures in the history of ballet and as the "godmother" of English and Irish ballet.
Sir Robert Murray Helpmann CBE was an Australian ballet dancer, actor, director, and choreographer. After early work in Australia he moved to Britain in 1932, where he joined the Vic-Wells Ballet under its creator, Ninette de Valois. He became one of the company's leading men, partnering Alicia Markova and later Margot Fonteyn. When Frederick Ashton, the company's chief choreographer, was called up for military service in the Second World War, Helpmann took over from him while continuing as a principal dancer.

Carlos Yunior Acosta Quesada is a Cuban-British ballet director and retired dancer who is director of the Birmingham Royal Ballet. He danced with many companies including the English National Ballet, National Ballet of Cuba, Houston Ballet and American Ballet Theatre. He was a permanent member of The Royal Ballet from 1998 to 2015. In 2003, he was promoted to principal guest artist, a rank which reduced his commitment, enabling him to concentrate on a growing schedule of international guest appearances and tours. He celebrated his farewell after 17 years at The Royal Ballet, dancing his last performance in November 2015 in Carmen, which he both choreographed and starred in.

Crystal Pite is a Canadian choreographer and dancer. She began her professional dance career in 1988 at Ballet BC, and in 1996 she joined Ballett Frankfurt under the tutelage of William Forsythe. After leaving Ballett Frankfurt she became the resident choreographer of Montreal company Les Ballets Jazz de Montreal from 2001 to 2004. She then returned to Vancouver where she focused on choreographing while continuing to dance in her own pieces until 2010. In 2002 she formed her own company called Kidd Pivot, which produced her original works Uncollected Work (2003), Double Story (2004), Lost Action (2006), Dark Matters (2009), The You Show (2010), The Tempest Replica (2011), Betroffenheit (2015), and Revisor (2019) to date. Throughout her career she has been commissioned by many international dance companies to create new pieces, including The Second Person (2007) for Netherlands Dans Theater and Emergence (2009) for the National Ballet of Canada, the latter of which was awarded four Dora Mavor Moore Awards.
Irek Dzhavdatovich Mukhamedov OBE, is a Soviet-born British ballet dancer of Tatar origin who has danced with the Bolshoi Ballet and the Royal Ballet. Born in Kazan, he trained at the Moscow Choreographic Institute under the guidance of Alexander Prokofiev between 1970 and 1978. Upon graduation, he joined the Classical Ballet Company, where he spent three years touring around the world. It was with this company that he first danced Romeo, a role that was to become one of his most acclaimed. In 1981 he won the Grand Prix and gold medal at the International Ballet Competition in Moscow and was immediately invited to join the Bolshoi Ballet as a principal dancer, where he not only became Grigorovich's favourite danseur but went to become the youngest man ever to dance the leading role in Spartacus.
