Willard Chiwewe is the Provincial Governor and resident minister of Masvingo, Zimbabwe. He is a member of the ZANU-PF party and an ex officio member of the Senate of Zimbabwe. [1] He was placed on the European Union and United States sanctions lists in 2003. [2]
Zimbabwe, officially the Republic of Zimbabwe, is a landlocked country located in Southeast Africa, between the Zambezi and Limpopo Rivers, bordered by South Africa to the south, Botswana to the south-west, Zambia to the north, and Mozambique to the east. The capital and largest city is Harare. The second largest city is Bulawayo. A country of roughly 15 million people, Zimbabwe has 16 official languages, with English, Shona, and Ndebele the most common.
The politics of Zimbabwe takes place in a framework of a full presidential republic, whereby the President is the head of state and government as organized by the 2013 Constitution. Executive power is exercised by the government. Legislative power is vested in both the government and parliament. The status of Zimbabwean politics has been thrown into question by a 2017 coup.
Zimbabwe Rhodesia was an unrecognised state that existed from 1 June 1979 to 11 December 1979. Zimbabwe Rhodesia was preceded by an unrecognised republic named Rhodesia and was briefly followed by the re-established British colony of Southern Rhodesia, which according to British constitutional theory had remained the lawful government in the area after Unilateral Declaration of Independence (UDI) in 1965. About three months later, the re-established colony of Southern Rhodesia was granted internationally recognized independence within the Commonwealth as the Republic of Zimbabwe.
Matabeleland South is a province in southwestern Zimbabwe. With a population of 683,893 as of the 2012 census, it is the country's least populous province. After Matabeleland North, it is Zimbabwe's second-least densely populated province. Matabeleland South was established in 1974, when the original Matabeleland Province was divided into two provinces, the other being Matabeleland North. The province is divided into six districts. Gwanda is the capital, and the Beitbridge is the province's largest town. The name "Matabeleland" is derived from Ndebele, the province's largest ethnic group.
Herbert Muchemwa Murerwa is a Zimbabwean politician. He served as the Finance Minister of Zimbabwe from April 1996 to July 2000, from August 2002 to February 2004, and again from 26 April 2004 to 6 February 2007. He has been Minister of Lands and Land Resettlement since February 2009.

The prime minister of Zimbabwe was a political office in the government of Zimbabwe that existed on two occasions. The first person to hold the position was Robert Mugabe from 1980 to 1987 following independence from the United Kingdom. He took office when Southern Rhodesia became the Republic of Zimbabwe on 18 April 1980. This position was abolished when the constitution was amended in 1987 and Mugabe became president of Zimbabwe, replacing Canaan Banana as the head of state while also remaining the head of government. The office of prime minister was restored in 2009 and held by Morgan Tsvangirai until the position was again abolished by the 2013 Constitution of Zimbabwe.

Robert Gabriel Mugabe was a Zimbabwean revolutionary and politician who served as Prime Minister of Zimbabwe from 1980 to 1987 and then as President from 1987 to 2017. He served as Leader of the Zimbabwe African National Union (ZANU) from 1975 to 1980 and led its successor political party, the ZANU – Patriotic Front (ZANU–PF), from 1980 to 2017. Ideologically an African nationalist, during the 1970s and 1980s he identified as a Marxist–Leninist, and as a socialist after the 1990s.
The Joint Operations Command (JOC) is the supreme organ for the coordination of state security in Zimbabwe. It was established by the Rhodesian Security Forces to supervise its counter-insurgency campaign in the Rhodesian Bush War as well as external incursions into neighbouring countries such as Zambia and Mozambique. The JOC retained its role in the post-independence Zimbabwe Defence Forces, and has since been accused of manipulating elections and orchestrating political violence.
Giles Mutsekwa is a Zimbabwean politician. He was appointed to the unity government as one of two co-ministers of Home Affairs by Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai in February 2009 and sworn into office on February 13. He concurrently served as secretary for Security and Intelligence of the MDC-T, and served as MP for Mutare North from 2000 to 2008. In 2010, he was reassigned and became Minister for Housing.

Harare Metropolitan Province is a province in northeastern Zimbabwe. It comprises Harare, the country's capital and most populous city, and two other municipalities, Chitungwiza and Epworth. Originally part of Mashonaland Province, in 1983 the province was divided into three large provinces, Mashonaland Central, Mashonaland East, and Mashonaland West, while the city of Harare became its own metropolitan province, along with two nearby cities. Harare Province is divided into four districts. Miriam Chikukwa is the current provincial governor.
Peter McLaughlin is an Irish academic, historian, and educator. He is the CEO of Max Learning Limited, the educational arm of the Max Group. He was Headmaster of The Doon School. Before joining Doon in 2009, he served as Headmaster of Douai School, and Principal of the British International School in Cairo and of Casterton School in England. McLaughlin retired from Doon in May 2016.
Cde Peter Chanetsa is a Zimbabwean national hero who was the Governor of Mashonaland West Province from 1996 to 2003. He was the first black Government Chief of Protocol in 1980 after the country secured independence. Chanetsa was one of the Zimbabwean nationalists who fought for Zimbabwe independence from Tanzania. He participated in the Lancaster House Conference for the negotiations with the Rhodesian government for the formal independence of Zimbabwe. Chanetsa was a member of Hurungwe parliament. He belonged to Zanu-PF political party and was a member of its Central Committee until his death in 2017.
Josiah Hungwe was a Provincial Governor of Masvingo and later became the pioneer Minister of State for Liaising on Psychomotor Activities in Education. Hungwe is a member of Zimbabwe African National Union Patriotic Front. He is known for making controversial comments and denying them. For instance, on 25 May 2018, Hungwe remarked at a project commissioning ceremony that if President Emmerson Mnangagwa could shoot his way into power in November the previous year, nothing would stop him from using same strategy to perpetuate himself in office. Hungwe later denied making such statement. On 27 August 2018, he told an audience that he would retire from active politics once President Emmerson Mnangagwa was reelected but later recanted saying his statement had been misquoted in a jest.
Stephen Jeqe Nyongolo Nkomo was a Zimbabwean nationalist, politician and Governor of Matabeleland South Province. Nkomo was a Resident Minister and senior member of the Central Committee of Politburo of the ruling Zanu-PF party. He died in 2003 while serving as Governor of Matabeleland South Province.
