Rear-Admiral William Shaun Truelove CMM CD is a retired senior Royal Canadian Navy officer.

Military service

He joined the Navy in 1981 and obtained a degree at Royal Roads Military College. [2]

In 1998 he was appointed Executive Officer of HMCS Preserver before being appointed as Commanding Officer of HMCS Regina [3] from 2001 to 2003 and the Naval Officer Training Centre until 2004.

He was promoted to Rear-Admiral in May 2012 and took command of Maritime Forces Pacific in June 2012. [3] In 2015 he was appointed as Commander, Canadian Defence Liaison Council in Washington. [4] In July 2018, he stepped down as defence attaché at the Embassy of Canada, Washington, D.C., and retired from the Canadian Armed Forces. [5]

He was invested as an officer of the Order of Military Merit in 2009 [6] and promoted to commander of the order in 2016. [1]

Vice-Admiral Philip Dean McFadden, CMM, CD is a retired officer of the Canadian Forces. He was chief of the Maritime Staff from 2009 to 2011 and last to hold the post before it was renamed to commander of the Royal Canadian Navy.

Rear-Admiral William Moss Landymore, OBE, CD was a Canadian naval officer. Born in Brantford, Ontario, Landymore joined the Royal Canadian Navy in 1936, but spent much of early career training with the Royal Navy. During World War II, Landymore returned to the Royal Canadian Navy and served aboard destroyers in the Battle of the Atlantic, surviving two sinkings. By the end of the war Landymore had taken a series of positions in Ottawa before returning to destroyer command during the Korean War. He was promoted through the ranks eventually becoming the first Commander of Maritime Command. Landymore became embroiled in a public feud with the Minister of National Defence following the Unification of the Canadian Armed Forces and resigned as a result. He died at Halifax, Nova Scotia.

He served as Commander of the Royal Canadian Navy from 22 July 2011 to 21 June 2013. He subsequently served as the High Commissioner of Canada to Australia from August 2015 until May 2019.

Vice-Admiral (Ret'd) Mark A. G. Norman, is a retired Royal Canadian Navy officer. He took up the post of Vice Chief of the Defence Staff of Canada on August 5, 2016. He was temporarily relieved of the post on January 16, 2017, and was permanently removed on June 27, 2018, accused of having released sensitive government information to affect a procurement of naval supply ships, which potentially constituted a breach of trust. In 2019, charges against him were dropped by the Crown because there was "no reasonable prospect of conviction." Norman subsequently received an "all-party" apology from the House of Commons, a settlement of claims, and full reimbursement of legal fees incurred by him.

She served as commanding officer of HMCS Malahat from 1995 to 1998, and as Commander of the Naval Reserve from 2007 to 2011. She was named as one of Canada's 100 Most Powerful Women in 2011.
