The Exhibition subdivision of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada, is located on the banks of the South Saskatchewan River and was developed between the two major World Wars. Yorath Island is a small island, 151 acres (61 ha) in size, in the South Saskatchewan River just outside the southern boundaries of the city of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. The island is relatively new, and did not exist when the land was first surveyed in 1903. This island is managed by the Meewasin Valley Authority; it is not accessible by road, but can be seen from the Maple Grove area. The island is named after Christopher J. Yorath, who in 1913 became the commissioner of Saskatoon. Yorath is best known for an extensive, forward-thinking planning document published in 1913 that proposed future residential and road layout for Saskatoon, and he originated the idea of the City developing an "Encircling Boulevard"; in 2013 this proposal came to fruition with the completion of the Circle Drive freeway project. Ironically, Yorath's document proposed the Encircling Boulevard cross through what would later be named Yorath Island; the final Circle Drive passes to the north of the island, which is undeveloped save for a set of power lines that cross the river at the northern tip of the island.
The Bowerman House is a designated Municipal Heritage Property located in the Holiday Park, neighborhood of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. The home is of a crafts-man "Western Stick" style. The house was built as a hunting lodge by Allan Bowerman, graduate from Kingston Military College, first postmaster in Saskatoon on the west side of the river, and member of Saskatoon's first town council. Bowerman was also responsible for the development of the Canada Building. The home was designed by Walter William LaChance. Bowerman sold the home in 1917 after the end of a construction boom in the city.

The 2017 Saskatoon Meewasin provincial by-election was a held on March 2, 2017. The vote was called after the death of incumbent MLA Roger Parent of the Saskatchewan Party, who died of cancer on November 29, 2016.
Brightwater Creek is a river in south central Saskatchewan, Canada. It is a tributary of the South Saskatchewan River in a region called the Prairie Pothole Region of North America, which extends throughout three Canadian provinces and five U.S. states. It is also within Palliser's Triangle and the Great Plains ecoregion.
